Funk Cartel bring their rave-ready sounds to Hottrax with the three-track ‘Discotexx EP’. 

Brothers Blame Rory and Kimono Cam have quickly risen through the ranks with releases on the likes of Etiquette and Deeperfect, as well as running their own THUNDR imprint. The taste-making duo now step up for Jamie Jones's always-on-point Hottrax with three robust and richly detailed cuts. 

'Discotexx' kicks off with freaky vocals, sci-fi sonic details and plenty of effects that make the track irresistible. The superb 'Higher' is another slice of dance floor dynamite, with a fluid bassline combined with addictive grooves for a spaced-out, futuristic track. Last but not least is 'Feel It,' another full flavour cut with punchy drum programming, trippy vocal fragments, and whirring sounds taking it into cosmic realms.

Fascinated by the birth of rave and acid house culture in the late eighties & early nineties, Paris/France based duo, Laurent ASH & UK born Neil Curtis, decided to create "Pacific State" a perfect name for some new fresh air in a club scene that really needs it.

Inspired and influenced by the underground UK club sound pioneers, were talking here about legends like Mike Pickering, Graeme Park, the KLF and L.F.O. the duo has more than one foot at the Hacienda, virtually of course.

The key point of their music is the way its produced: the most unconventional possible way, i mean for a band whos embracing the twenty first century.

Technically vintage, something that is so far away from today standards: real drum machines Roland TR-909/808, TB-303 Bass lines, a bunch of Akai S950 samplers, and of course the venerable Atari ST computer. A complete package with the Todd Terry Remix to lead off the single

'Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory returns this October with a various artists package featuring Ben Rau, Dennis Quin, Stephane Ghenacia and Tommy Bones.

Over the years Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory has cemented itself as a go to for all things groove-driven in the House world, releasing material from the likes of DJ Sneak, Seb Zito, DJ Deep, Jamie Jones and most recently DJ W!ld. Here the label welcomes an array of artists for a new various artist package.

Inkal/Meta’s Ben Rau leads with ‘Be Who You Want To Be’, laying down choppy bass stabs and crunchy drums alongside sweeping pad lines and vocal chants. Dennis Quin’s ‘Rubb’ follows next, taking a more raw approach courtesy of heavily swung percussion, fidgety resonant synths and intricately processed vocal hooks.

Stephane follows next with ‘Baraka’, stripping things back to a heady shuffled rhythm, chopped voices and his signature snaking bass groove before Tommy Bones’ Papi Huesos’ rounds out the package, shifting focus over to more classic house tropes with bright piano chords, an acid tinged bass hook and airy string melodies.'
