Hey everyone! Today, we have a special set by your favorite House as Fuck DJ and producer, Matthew Brian! Matt has had one of the longest Friday night residencies at the Airconditioned Lounge (aka AC Lounge) where he founded House Music Fridays, and has worked alongside some of the top DJs and producers such as Derrick Carter, Luke Solomon, and DJ Sneak. You can find some of his production on Beatport, Traxsource, and Bandcamp with collaborations on Kolour Recordings, Tabby Traxx, and Late Night Jackin’. This mix was recorded live at Souleil’s debut party at The Hole in San Diego with headliner DJ Heather on June 22, 2025. Matt did an awesome job at closing the party after DJ Heather’s set. For our second Distrikt Podcast we welcome the exceptional selector @markfarina(mushroom jazz / great lake audio recordings) for a hour and half of his signature blend of house!

Since 1989, Mark Farina has been traveling the globe performing at literally hundreds of shows a year, sometimes DJing both of his preferred styles in two different rooms at the same party. At other events, he's been known to play extended sets that lasted over eight hours. In his House sets, Mark is known for his uniquely effortless journeys on the jazzy side of Chicago House, mixed up San Fran style.

This wandering record minstrel has played to incredible crowds all over the globe. Consistently drawing new fans to his style of chunky-funky rhythms and deep underground house, Mark plays upwards of 200 shows to over one million (1,000,000) club goers per year. Voted in the top 20 DJ's in the world by MUZIK and BPM Magazine, his taste making skills continue to turn the heads of seasoned veterans as well as youngsters just getting into the music.

On CD, Mark has recorded both of his dominant musical personalities. His first mix, 'Mushroom Jazz' on Om Records, is defined by a hip-hop sub-groove with jazzy, dubby elements in the downtempo range. It was followed by 'Seasons', a critically acclaimed House mix. An Imperial Dub mixed CD, a guest slot in the pedigreed 'United DJs of America' series, 'Mushroom Jazz 2' (Om Records) and 'San Francisco Sessions, Vol. I' (Om Records) and Mushroom Jazz 3 (Om Records) to round out the Farina catalog. His past release "Connect" walks the line of San Francisco deeper and the bumpin' funky house sound of Chicago. Now, in November of 2002, Mark Farina releases his much beloved fourth volume of Mushroom Jazz.

Jon Anthoni BIO

Jon Anthoni - Is a Bay Area based Dj/Producer who migrated to Sacramento, Ca in the early 2000's, he was initially introduced to the Underground Rave scene back in the early 90's and began learning the craft of Dj'ng in 1997. Being brought up on several different styles of music like Soul, R&B, Funk and Latin Jazz by his musician father along with learning how to play percussive instruments like the Drums, Conga’s and Timbales as a teenager are what really helped influence his sound that he is known for today. For almost 2 decades his Funky, Jazzy, Jackin House sound has been heard all over Northern Ca, with several stops in L.A., San Diego, Scottsdale AZ and Washington D.C. where he has been very fortunate to Headline Shows as well as Open for some of the most influential Dj/Producers in the world like Mark Farina, Dj Dan, Gene Farris, Colette & DJ Mes.

After an extended hiatus away from the Underground Music scene he returned in the later part of 2014 to once again pursue his passion for music. Tossing his hat into the Production Ring he has released music on such labels as Dustpan Recordings, Jump Recordings, Cabbie Hat, Seventy Four, Mikita Skyy, Chicago Skyline Records as well as his own personal label Nine Sixteen Muzik which he launched in 2020.
