Sophie B. Hawkins is best known for her #1 hits "Damn, I wish I was your lover" and the original of this remake: "As I Lay Me". 
In 2010, I had the pleasure to record and arrange two demos for Sophie's album "The Crossing" - this is one of them. Recording Sophie at the studio in her house was a great experience - she has a presence and a way to be taken up with her performance that words fail to describe - if you've ever seen her perform live, you'll probably know what I mean. 
Eventually the album went a more acoustic direction and this version is not included, but we still love it and I am posting it here for friends to enjoy. If you like it, go to Sophie's homepage and get the album at http://sophiebhawkins.com/.
