Gilles Peterson first started playing The Vulture from the album and this soon became one of his most requested tracks. The opening string section leading to a hard rock step has fired up many a jazz-funk dancefloor.

RNT Reserve debuts new project @bodymusicband, a collab between @bosqmusic (@whiskeybarons) and Vito Roccoforte (@vitodruzzi / The Rapture), with a 4-tracker of all-original deep disco flavor. Kicking things off is the title track, a pulsating indie dance stomper that features the magical vocals of Christian Holiday, then gets a chugging makeover from deep house don @lay-far. The flip side starts off mellow with “Get It Baby” which features guitar by Harris Klahr aka https://soundcloud.com/funkiharripresents, building toward a percussive crescendo, followed by a classic disco rework by French producer extraordinaire @patchworks.

First up, Wolf Music man Medlar; applying his dance floor know-how to West End’s rich archive of classic disco and boogie.  Hand picking four personal favourites, Medlar reworks them perfectly for current club sets. Picking out dub sections and skilfully reworking & extending them proving exactly why Medlar has been such a draw to labels like Delusions of Grandeur and For Discos Only.

Brooklyn-based label @razor-n-tape have maintained a certain prolificness over the last few years that has raised them to royalty status in the disco game. The imprint's formula is simple: straight-up, party-rocking edits for their RnT Edits line, and more house-leaning deep grooves for their Reserve sublabel. In the latest entry in the Edits series, we have a tasty little EP from Ron Bacardi, which is the disco and house alias of London-based techno hotshot @ben-sims.

On the flip comes our premiere for today, "Let The Music Play". Again, Mr. Bacardi brings the uptempo disco feel.  The edit focuses in on the more mesmerizing aspects of the original; with repeating funky riffs, a big time bassline, and a soaring synthesizer looping and layering to great effect.

Fantastic remix of the classic Willie Bobo track. Original version recorded by Rudy Van Gelder in 1965...remix done in 2002 and released on the Verve Remixed album.

This recording gets the quasi-audiophile treatment...Rega P3, Dynavector 10x5 cartridge, PrimaLuna ProLogue Three & MOTU 896HD audio interface recording at 24/96. To top it off this 7 1/2 minute song fills up an ENTIRE record side pressed at 33 1/3! These grooves are insane! Easily one of the best "dance" 12"s I've ever heard. Dig that bass!
