i love the laid back rhythm, the horn section working its way through the sounds, and the very cool singing. brilliant track - enjoyable electric break too.

We have lots of reggae in NZ - you really got some great effects on the drums-percussion and also with synth/KBs. Very good!

I'm a little late to this dub party. This is beautifully done John. Brilliant rhythm and effects. Excellent vocals

the hi/lo vocal doubling is working very well and a solid dub groove with a big 3 !!  you've got the tripped out sounds and arrangement space that makes it authentic

Never been to Birdland though I’m a big Charlie 'Yardbird' Parker fan. This track, however, is more about the Tweetie variety, they are such a delight, I love listening to their toons. Meandering Memories

Third track from this project, inspired by Ann Leckie's book, "Ancillary Justice". One of the instruments I chose for this came with that lo-fi, warm, white noise, analogue, vinyl feel. You can't miss it, I've let it dominate the recording... or should I say, I've let the compressor decide! In the end, I think it helps with the slightly bluesy, smoky guitar lick. Breq's developing relationship with Seivarden is a central theme in the book. 

The illustration is by Tom Fowler (on tumbler). It shows Breq holding Seivarden by the scruff of the neck... very different to the two of them on the book cover.  I love the way Leckie's book plays with the reader's gender perceptions.
