The second instalment of the Groove Gems collection featuring an array of talented artists from my main collectives, @RhythmandReason and @ORPHGANG... 

This project was a great opportunity to showcase some of the amazing talent I have come across since releasing the first instalment of Groove Gems; all of whom I can individually consider as close friends and musical inspirations. Furthermore, Groove Gems II also allowed me to solidify my sound (put a stamp on it if you like) and expose listeners to the musical development/growth I have experienced since the last album. 

A massive thank you to EVERYONE who has supported me so far on my journey!

Dear Dilla, you shaped my perception for music in ways I can't describe in words. Music has always touched my heart, but your music moved my soul. You had a gift of making the most creative music using samples from the most unlikely sources. I'll never understand why someone like you, who could have given the world so much more, would be taken way so soon. Dilla, you "literally" changed lives and you probably saved lives too, because when you make music "straight from the heart," it's not just music anymore.

You will always be my favorite musician of all time....

J Dilla - Find A Way (Miguel Atwood Ferguson & Carlos Niño Orchestral Rendition)

Berlin-based, New Zealand-born Noah Slee has enjoyed a remix by Tall Black Guy for his track "Rampant Wild Free" from debut EP, which was released in March.

TBG has taken the banger style track, originally produced by Ben Esser, and put a more laid-back, old-school hip-hop slant on it, removing the synths in favour of subtle, tinkling keys.
