katharsis is a label founded by the copenhagen-based artist jjjacob in the spring of 2020 focusing on emotionally charged music. The vision of the label is to show the world how music is our best tool to process moods, thoughts and emotions by self-therapeutic involvement with the arts. katharsis showcases various different branches of electronic, ambient and experimental music on their releases featuring artists from all across the world. On this monthly radio show on Ma3azef.live, jjjacob and invited guests who are involved with katharsis exhibit their current musical inspirations for 2 hours. 
After a break in the Ma3azef.live program for the cause of Palestine, katharsis returns with 2 hours of experimental music. jjjacob starts off the show with the usual mixture of melodic synth-driven floaters and a few more hard-hitting tracks, before he lets @zerocrossingpoint and @nexcyia showcase their ambient selections of the moment.

If things didn't go the way they did five years ago, we would have celebrated Margot's 28th birthday today. But they did. I may not be vocal about my grief (quite the contrary) but making a special mixtape for her birthday is one of the most efficient ways to remain close to her. Those who know me well can tell how important I think sharing new music is.

As in the previous four birthday mixes, I've stitched together a few dozen tracks that have stuck with me this year (from all corners of the music spectrum). Some made me smile, some made me zone out, and some made me miss her. In short: consider this the end-of-the-year list I wish I could have shared with her.

I've come a long way since 2017, and I think this will be my last addition to this series. Of course, I'll continue making mixtapes, but I believe this is a nice way to close this chapter and move forward. However, Margot's spirit is still very much with me every passing day. I've learned never to take anything for granted, enjoy the small things, and just carpe-ing that damn diem. That's all because of her, and I remain forever grateful to Margot for teaching me.

Dear Margot, no matter how many curveballs I'm being thrown every year (sometimes they don't seem to stop coming) and wherever I'll end up, there's always going to be a part of you within me. I'll always be your friend, your lover and your fan. Gelukkige verjaardag liefje, hope you like it x

Electro acholi pioneer Otim Alpha's incredible body of work was recorded over a period of 11 years. Otim Alpha together with his early producer Leo Palayeng began in 2001 taking traditional Acholi 'Larakaraka' wedding songs and reinterpreting them with music software on computers. The results are a fast paced poly-rhythmic music ready for dance floor madness.
