The leaves of the trees formed a canopy that stretched far across the woods, allowing for small slivers of sunlight to cascade on the floor. The intricate shadows were reminiscent of doilies, beautiful patterns flickering upon the thick grass. This was the perfect place to embark on her first trip, the surroundings were calm and quiet, it was a feast for the senses. The hands of her watch clicked loudly, she watched intensely as each second passed by. It had been almost an hour since she'd taken it. As she averted her gaze to the sky, watching the leaves above dance in unison, her body began to feel fuzzy. What adventures lay before her she could not begin to comprehend...

Straight out of Offenbach, a suburb on the fringes of Frankfurt, DJ Slyngshot and DJ Neewt run their label Yappin'. We've not heard much from the former in a while, but it turns out he's been hard at work in the studio making music under his new moniker Deesigner. A departure from his previous releases, his new EP CY-309 sees Slyngshot opt for a sludgier tripped-out approach working with deep low frequencies and acid synth lines.

There was a hazy glow to the autumn sky - it wasn't beautiful but haunting and challenging upon the eye. Cycling along the brittle concrete streets his treads left a little scuff and scaff upon the pavement, at least they represented his small existence. He wondered how far he might be able to ride through the night before he became lost and missed. Back home there was little hope of a future but when he rode under the shade of the clouds and the trees he felt free and easy. His bike was his world...

Lrusse is set to release a new EP on Curve Records - a broken beat affair which packs a punch. The EP is titled "Planned Cities" and blurs the lines between moodier heady electronics and that for the dancefloor.

Parisian producer Cosmonection’s latest offering is one of those releases that's infectious from the first listen and perfect for the dance floor. Titled Venezia, this three track EP delivers two hard-hitting originals, along with a remix courtesy from London duo and BB favorites, Wayward. "Venezia" leads the way with lush keys, 303 and glistening horns while "Radiant" dives a little deeper with high-end flourishes weaving in and out of melodic keys. New Fabric resident Anna Wall and production partner Corbi, head of Fina Records, rummage through dusty ’90s nostalgia for their ‘DATs in the Attic’ EP, twisting UK hardcore heritage through the prism of contemporary house and breakbeat. The record as a whole is worth checking out, including the fantastic remix by Escape Earth in which we wheeled out in the second hour of our October Balamii show.

We premiere, ‘DAT 1’ which flaunts it's classic drum break of grooves amid its dry ice shrouded swirl of synth lines, with vocal exaltations, exhalations and exclamations appearing and disappearing into the foggy, sweaty haze.

PREMIERE: Anna Wall & Corbi - DAT 1 [Ritual Poison]

Distant Worlds continues its fine run of form with " Through Worlds & Centuries", the eighth release, and first compilation, featuring tracks from Tagwell Woods, Mihail P, HOLOVR and Castel. Tracks vary from deep house to hybrid broken beat to acidic Detroit techno but all are underpinned by subtly beautiful melodies and an introspective, meditative feel.

This particular track was written over 20 years ago by Castel and had been sat on a DAT ever since.Until this point, he has only seen 1 release previously, on CD, back in the late 90s when he won a competition at a local club in Melbourne offering the opportunity to release on local label, DanceNet. This stands to be his first venture on vinyl and what a beautifully Balearic piece of music it is - guitars, trance elements and broken beats all set the scene for a beautiful summer sundowner.
