I stopped making music after the world's Covid response changed my life pretty drastically in a variety of ways. I'm finally starting to feel the groove again. This track was done in Garageband with some loops and sounds and the lyrics are meant to remind myself and anyone else who listens to this song that we're not alone and to stay groovy basically lol - I like putting uplifting reminders in music so that when I get it stuck in my head later it reminds me to stay positive. I didn't have the adaptor for my microphone so I just used my laptop mic to improvise - when your flow dies and you feel it spark up again - don't worry about getting everything perfect - just let yourself find the flow and dive in <3

The gist of the lyrics:

The lyrics were inspired after listening to Ram Dass while processing the fear and sadness from the Covid-19 shift: www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUWSWmyWZjs : "Instead of responding to each fear specifically" - "cultivate the other part of yourself that is connected to all things" - so I remembered music and how it has always brought people together and acts as a vessel of connection - and I thought about how we're all connected and how nothing can change that and I wanted to put the reminder alongside some tunes.

This song is about my grandfather's recitation of a traditional joke when he would pass a cemetery, he would say, "People are dying to get in there," and how this joke has transcended three generations of my family, with my own kids now reciting the joke. They have added, "....and the wait is killing them." Either way, the song is about how we live on after we die through the loved ones we leave behind. 
The lyrics on the recording are different than these lyrics posted. After I recorded this song, I returned to these lyrics and made changes so I could recite it as poetry. I added more imagery. I so appreciate the musicians and artists who support my work and only hope we can all continue to stay inspired and grow through our art.

S’il y a un début, si ça change c’est qu’il y a une histoire.
On peut dire que chaque chapitre de la science vous raconte un peu de cette histoire.
L’Univers est très grand, il a probablement toujours été très grand, il est peut-être infini
et je crois que c’est ce qu’il y a derrière la phrase de Pascal quand il dit :  « Le silence éternel de ces espaces infini m’effraie ».
Il a cette image de cette immensité de l’Univers dans lequel il se sent perdu.
Nous sommes comme des explorateurs.
Il y avait toujours des grandes cartes, et sur ces cartes il y avait le pourtour qui était la côte
sur laquelle ils arrivaient mais au centre il y avait toujours une région blanche sur laquelle il était de tradition d’écrire « terra incognita », ça veut dire terre inconnue.
Mais à un moment donné, en reculant on arrive dans une zone de pénombre si on peut dire dans laquelle on ne sait de moins en moins de choses, et puis au-delà d’une certaine limite qu’on appellera l’horizon de la connaissance ou le début de la terra incognita, à partir de là on ne sait plus rien.

Si vous observez l’Univers aujourd’hui, vous voyez qu’il est très admirablement structuré.
Un univers c’est comme un archipel avec plein d’îlots qui sont des galaxies.
Toutes ces structures qui habitent notre univers aujourd’hui, il y a des galaxies,  il y a des étoiles,  il y a des planètes, il y a des êtres vivants, il y a des molécules, il y a des atomes ; tout ça n’existait pas dans les tous premiers temps de l’Univers.



Ces quarks, ces électrons se sont associés d’abord en atomes, en molécules, ensuite en cellules vivantes et ensuite en organismes primitifs et puis toute l’évolution de la vie qui nous passer du mollusque au poisson, aux amphibiens, aux reptiles, aux mammifères, aux singes aux hominiens et finalement à chacun d’entre nous.
Ce qui a pour résultat que quand vous touchez vos doigts, vous touchez à des poussières d’étoiles.
C’est pas une expression analogique, c’est pas une expression littéraire mais elle est vraie, strictement correcte.

Quand vous fermez les yeux et que vous dites "j’existe" il faut que, pour que cela se passe, cent milliards de milliards de milliards de quarks et d’électrons s’associent à une action globale, cette action globale étant simplement « j’existe ».
C’est ça l’histoire extraordinaire de l’Univers.

Regardons maintenant vers le futur.
Qu’est-ce que c’est que cette farce ? 
On met quinze milliard d’années pour produire une merveille, cette merveille n’a  de cesse que de se détruire.
Le problème le plus urgent, c’est combien de temps cette planète va t-elle demeurer habitable.
Est-ce l’intelligence n’est pas un cadeau empoisonné ? 
Et c’est nous, c’est les êtres humains qui vont prouver si un univers qui se lance dans cette expérience de la Complexité n’est pas condamné à jouer comme Sisyphe à monter sa pierre et la laisser redescendre continuellement.
