Be Svendsen Live @ Icarus - Burning Man 2016

As the warm autumnal colours of copper, russet and ochre turn to muted monochrome palettes, hues of icy blue and opaque crystal usher in a seasonal compilation that bursts through slate grey skies in sparkling sunlight, cascading sonic reflections across the underground dance scene.

"Winter Particles 2018" draws together a collection of artists that traverse the globe from North and South America to Africa, Asia and Europe. An assemblage of subtle and beautiful tunes is brought together that epitomises the Particles ethos – showcasing established artists and highlighting aspiring newcomers in an aural collage of electronic sound.

The arrival of seasonal shift sees shafts of light reach out into the shadows and dust. A mote sparkles in the bright light; caught in light breeze it drifts gently in hypnotic patterns. The presence of a filtered arpeggio takes a similar path, rising and falling in effortless waves. A piano note hits, cascading repeatedly into eternity as a growling bassline creates perfect juxtaposition; a liquid ink sky lit up by a carpet of luminous pinpricks.

Summer's petrichor a distant memory amidst the icy shards that cling to bare branches, the snow-swept ridges keep their secret of once green and rolling hilltops. Winter's zeitgeist is firmly held within pulsating rhythms and melodies to warm the soul. The acceleration of time brings with it a new musical direction and impulse for change. Elevated to new heights, shimmering percussive intent casts a spell of hidden energy, an electrical charge and dynamic spirit. The fusion or organic and electronic sounds are crystal clear in invigorating sonic shapes and patterns.

Heading for the winter trip, heading for the slide. A mountain isn't far to fall when you're falling from a silhouetted moon.

Ukrainian duo Woo York deliver a powerful, driving, dark-yet-sophisticated sound on their upcoming ‘Chasing The Dream’ LP, set to drop on May 4 as the first artist album on Afterlife.

Opening with the brooding and thought-provoking cosmic stabs of the aptly titled ‘Inception’, Woo York guide you through a fluid-like path across ‘Chasing the Dream’, offering fluttering synths on ‘Walk Along The Rainbow’ and a rattling percussive core to ‘There Is A Light.’ Their signature 303 magic hints at acid on ‘Through Peaks and Valleys’, and there is ice-cold ambience to finish in ‘Rise’ and an alternate mix of the title track. What makes everybody's darling duo ​Monkey Safari so special is surely their authenticity; with their striking debut album ‘Odyssey’​, this meant producing the same kind of tracks they were playing as they toured nightclubs and festivals around the world, rather than simply a listening album. The result was a dance floor artwork. And while they may be perfectionists, they’re certainly no purists, carefully handpicking remixers they see as most capable of continuing their vision for the album.

Split in 3 separate EPs, ​‘Odyssey Remixed – One’​, ​‘Two’​, and ​‘Three’ will be released in ​May​, ​June​, and ​July 2018​, featuring reworks of the original album tracks by the master himself, ​Carl Cox​, international stars ​Hernan Cattaneo​, Guy J​, ​Musumeci​, Tensnake ​and Reboot​, studio geniuses ​Dubspeeka, Hannes Bieger, ROD, ​and Phil Moffa​, as well as up-and-coming talent ​Avidus​, ​Trivmph​, and​ ​Hommage label co-chief ​Karl Friedrich​.

Hernan Cattaneo & Audio Junkies: ​”As big fans of MS, we regularly feature their tracks in our dj sets so it was really cool to get the offer for a remix where we could add our sounds and identity to an already great original.”

Reboot: ​“​Being asked to lay hands on one track of the last Monkey Safari album was a big pleasure for me, as I have been a fan of their work for a while. Even though it was rather challenging, as the original is a perfectly produced floorkiller. So I tried to bring the track into a more dirty direction with a long breakdown, but without leaving the original`s idea too much. I hope people enjoy the results.”

Tensnake:​ ​“I had a blast remixing ‘Odyssey’. The vocals inspired me to remix it with a bit of 90’s industrial vibe.”

ROD​: ​“Thanks to the great original parts, both my remixes flowed out of my system quite naturally. i was happy to do 2 complete different remixes. where ‘prologue' is more about peak-time techno-energy, with 'sign' i tried to create a much more psychedelic underwater-ish vibe which i think worked out quite well with that soothing vocal."

Inked Soul - You Need To Stop

It took me a while to express my feelings after Bucht der Träumer* 2019 - to be honest, I was a bit overwhelmed and at a lack of words. That it was incredible is to say the least. I am moved by the experience of hundreds of people working as one with love and compassion to bring something beautiful into this world. By all sometimes grim outlooks on the future our civilisation has set course on, it has been a friendly reminder what we - human - are capable of, if we trust each other and care for each other. 
Sorry for the unusualy kitsch words, but when on sunday afternoon a storm sent Boah! Island out to the open water and a double rainbow was spanning over the bay it really looked like we triggered something. A big thank you to one and all involved.

Playing a DJ set on Cap Cavala in the midst of so many fellow-activists, old&newer friends & family has been an absolute pleasure and has been something I had been looking forward to for allmost the entire year. It is these kind of situatuions, where I feel I can go really anywhere with the sound. Thanks for having my back! All the more unfortunate my recording was scrambled and it took a while for me to find the time and peace of mind to recreate the set from memory. I hope you enjoy it!

Jeremy Olander returns to the helm next Friday, December 11, with a momentous three track crooner, dishing out several of the Swedish DJ's most anticipated and sought after 2020 productions through the release of his new Rubicks EP

Heard in full-length and quality for the first time on Dancing Astronaut, the EP's title track delivers the sophisticated and nuanced club flare that fans have come to expect from Olander and his signature label, Vivrant Records. "Rubicks" puts Olander's melodic prowess is on full display, however the real star of the show are the melancholic synths that ebb, flow, and jive their way through the tune's progressive inspired drops. The result isn't necessarily a peak hour, hands in the air face-melter, but a refreshingly contemplative and intricate house tune that reveals just a bit more of itself with each and every listen.

Those who have followed Jeremy Olander's ironclad mixes through lockdown may recognize "Rubicks" as the adorned "Berns ID 02," a production that's caught the attention of aficionados since at least March of this year. The remainder of the release, available December 11, features equally revered IDs in "Summit" and "The Mist" (previously regarded as "Balance Tour ID" and "Whiskey Jar ID," respectively).
