Today’s special is brought to you by the Schirmchendrink founders, Floloco and Bigasti! 

Exclusively for Schirmchendrink and for the first time Floloco and Bigasti went back-to-back. The result is a luscious Caribbean Cask - fantastically smooth, dreamy, with a nice refreshing touch and an interesting twist revealing an intense peak.  

Bigasti’s signature is dark melodies and mellow beats. He is based in Belgium, has releases on labels such as Electronical Reeds and Kuukou Records and will announce his first international gigs very soon!  
Floloco’s home is somewhere between deep and downbeat – and Switzerland. He has a unique talent to built-up emotions in his mixes and is always striving to find new pearls in the depth of the electronic music universe.  

Schirmchendrink started small in fall 2015 and quickly grew to an internationally respected electronic music podcast. Not in their wildest dreams Floloco and Bigasti imagined such a great feedback from around the globe.

Hoj's EP on All Day I Dream has been a long time coming. After over 15 years as a DJ, this EP marks Hoj's official release. 

Telefade is a track that Hoj had been evolving for some time. After a final session with Modd, Hoj took the track to Burning Man where he played it for the first time. Lee Burridge heard it and signed the tune on the spot. Featuring haunting vocals from Amega.

The second track on the EP is called Leap Day, named for the day in 2016 that Hoj began it. Made for sunrises and sunsets, the tune weaves through lush melodies  with a bounce. Powel's delicate and refined touch brings a sophistication to Leap Day.

Lumberjacks in Hell is a records label run by Marcel Vogel, which like the label boss, has a sound that incorporates everything from rare groove and disco to Chicago house.
With recent releases that have featured music from the likes of Karizma, Soulphiction, Rahaan, Dan Shake and of course Marcel Vogel himself, this new release is from Andy Compton & Shamrock.
Andy Compton is an artist who based in the English city of Bristol, has an eclectic sound that varies between soulful house and jazzy R&B. Often working with live instrumentation either sampled or recorded, he is a talented musician who also releases under the alias of The Rurals.
With over 30 albums and 120 EP’s under his belt Andy Compton also heads up the Peng label, which has signed music from scene leading icons such as Louie Vega, Larry Heard, Mark Farina and Osunlade.
A veteran DJ and producer with decades of experience, Andy Compton's music can be found on other imprints such as GOGO Music, Seasons Recordings, Naked Music and the Chicago based Large.
For this downtempo release Andy has joined forces with African artist Shamrock who is a multi-talented musician with a love of guitars and house music, and has built a reputation for playing DJ sets that incorporate him mixing and playing guitar at the same time.
Shamrock is responsible for much of the musicianship on this release and combined with Andy Compton’s production skills the output is soulful house with African flair and Latin influenced rhythms.
The EP opens with the samba percussion and chimes of “Bunny Chow” but it’s the expertly played bass guitar that provides the groove, and plays a game of call and response with the layers of both male and female vocal chants. Finished with some trumpet flutters, this laid back jazz track is a hustling bustling musical conversation, that everyone who listens what’s to get involved with.

It’s rare to come across a debut album that delights and surprises in equal measure, but that’s exactly what you can expect from Human Call, the first full-length excursion from daydreaming dancefloor fusionists Earthboogie.

The East London-based duo of Izaak Gray and Nicola Robinson has previous form when it comes to creating beautiful, funk-fuelled fusions of soundsystem-ready rhythms, humid instrumentation and intergalactic audio explorations. To date, they’ve released a pair of fine EPs on Leng, both of which did a splendid job in showcasing their unique musical vision.

Even so, this vision has never been clearer than it is on Human Call, a vibrant eight-track missive that fixes the sticky tropical cheeriness of African and South American dance music – be it Afro-disco, Afro-funk or samba – with a wide range of complimentary sounds, styles and influences, from spacey analogue electronics, sun-kissed Balearica and hazy West Coast jazz-rock, to chunky dub disco, snappy retro-futurist house and bouncy, dub-fuelled club workouts.

Throughout, Gray and Robinson showcase an impressive level of musicianship, variously combining crunchy drum machine hits and dusty old synthesizers with razor-sharp electric and acoustic guitars, rich bass, cascading saxophone solos and hazy, life-affirming vocal harmonies. 

The result is a string of memorable highlights, from the sticky tropical-house-meets-dub disco futurism of “Human Call” and fuzzy disco-funk righteousness of opener “Overground”, to the post-punk disco jauntiness of “Stargazing” and samba-infused dancefloor bliss of Nina Miranda collaboration “Silken Moon”. Cheery, absorbing, imaginative and hugely entertaining, Human Call offers a perfect snapshot of Earthboogie’s distinctive musical world.
