Michael Cretu, also known as Curly M.C. (born May 18, 1957 in a suburb of Bucharest, Romania), is a Romanian musician best known as the creator of the Enigma project. His original name, Creţu, means "the curly-haired". He has worked with many producers, musicians, and artists in his long career. These include Sandra Cretu, Frank Farian, Boney M, Goombay Dance Band, Peter Cornelius, Manfred "Tissy" Thiers and Mike Oldfield in his pre-Enigma days, and Jens Gad, Frank Peterson, David Fairstein, ATB, Jam & Spoon, Peter Ries, Ruth-Ann Boyle and Andru Donalds during the course of the project.

Context: (Contains Story Spoilers)
“The Book” is a piece shrouded in mystery and omens. As Dilem enters the barn to feed Garran, he hears a strange sound coming from his father’s old chest — a distant whisper, almost like a call.

Inside, he finds a blood-red book, marked with a symbol and words that seem to pulse with a voice of their own. Years earlier, Nathan had discovered that same book and tried to unravel its secrets — instructions of a power long forgotten. He failed. But his young son, repeating one of those words in innocence, ignited the fire.

Fear made him forget. But now, drawn once more by that call, Dilem reads the word his father once underlined, and the power awakens — fire returns to the world, breaking the silence of centuries.

The music follows this awakening: the murmur of the unknown, the memory of fear, and at last, the rise of the flame.

Dialogue:

Virna:could you go feed Garran for me? I haven’t finished making lunch yet, and your father should be arriving soon.”
Dilem:“Sure, Mom… but… what are we having for lunch? My stomach’s growling…”
Virna:“Oh, my dear… this is your mother’s secret recipe… sea bass with mussels and shrimp, cooked with garlic, onion, and bay leaves… and just a splash of white wine for that perfect touch…”
Dilem:“Wow… looks delicious… do you need any help?…”
Virna: “I’ve already told you, go feed Garran. He must be starving… Take some barley too, to give along with the hay.”
Dilem:“Don’t worry… I’m coming…”

Dilem:“Hey, big guy! Are you hungry?… Look what I brought for you…”
Dilem:"What is that?"
The Book: "Come to the Power... Mage."
Dilem:“It’s coming from that chest… What is that?... A red book with a ‘V’ on the cover?”
Dilem:“Hmm, let me see… there are several strange words here… Hmm, this one looks familiar and… it seems someone marked it with ink… ‘IGNIS CANDENS?’”
