ForTiorI - Stampede (revised mix)

here´s a second revision of the mix for this song. with a new vocalist with a certain recording situation (voice, mic, room, mic technique, ...)and trying out a different mix all together, there are bound to be retweaks here and there. but i think for now this sounds like a keeper.

ForTiorI - Stampede (revised Mix 2)

here i tried to see what i could get when i used a simple distortion plugin that comes with my DAW as basis for a rhythm guitar tone. it´s better than any free amp plugin i messed with.

I asked the guy if he could send me his DI´s so we could compare his Helix tone to my Pod tone. And he was cool enough to make this little experiment. 

Dark Neutron - Substance (reamped with Pod HD Pro + Rosen Digital IR)

made a comparrison between the three. on all modelers there´s just the tube screamer and the dual rectifier model. all have the Budda 4 x 12 impulse response by Rosen Digital. in the mix just HP and LP. no further post EQ or tone shaping.

Pod HD vs Bias FX vs TH3 rhythm tone

mixed this for a band on the Andy Sneap forum. hope i´ll get the gig. 

drums are mostly live. kick is retriggered using a kick from NI Modern Drummer. the original kick is distorted and the low end was a bit of a loose cannon. 
the snare is reinforced with a snare also from Modern Drummer. but it´s mostly the original snare. the sample just adds some brightness and bite because with the bleed reduction process i used on the original snare i lose some high end and actual snare sound.

all guitars including bass are reamped using TH3. that thing just sounds rad, doesn´t it?!

In the mix I only used LPF and HPF, but no further EQ shaping or fixing. So what you hear is pretty much what you get.

Here´s my little demo of the new Djenthuggah Drums library by It Might Get Loud Productions.

The library contains kick, snare and tom samples. The Overheads are from NI Studio Drummer, specifically the Stadium Kit.

For all the shells I used the raw samples provided by the vsti of Djenthuggah as basis and processed them to get a modern sound. For the kick and snare I then also faded in the already processed samples as support.

Fusion - Matrix Theory - johnny´s mix

First half seems to be 50Hz hum, which I guess is because of European electrical grid. But in the second half the power amp is just spassing out. Any ideas what could cause this?
