Celebrating the 75th birthday of Mr Roy Ayers with this mix, showcasing some of my favourite tracks from his slightly lesser known material… Well, I mean compared to tracks like Everybody 
Loves The Sunshine, Searching, We Live In Brooklyn, Running Away, Love Will Bring Us Back Together…

I also hear new stuff that I hadn’t noticed before when I listen to his music - the track with Jack Wilson that opens the mix up is so heavy and cosmic for its time, and I’d forgotten about the track with Wayne Henderson! There are so many great albums out there including the 2 Virgin Ubiquities BBE put out... We could devote a whole week of radio programmes to Roy, his archive is so large… 

He is the key to all things between jazz, soul, disco and hip hop…. Thank you roy for all the music...

I wanted to share a live recording that we have listened to multiple times in our home  :) 

Last year we spent some time in Bali at Potato Head (@potatoheadmusic). Alongside my night time gig I asked them if I could play a "sunset set" by the beach. Instead a biblical thunderstorm rolled through and we all huddled under the covers. 
Some records I have played before, some I haven't all of them special to me in some way.

This edition of Bleep’s mix series finds @simisea (Brandon Sánchez) from @igetrvng leading us on a deep dive into both the label’s own releases and music admired by those involved with the acclaimed imprint. As anyone familiar with the RVNG Intl. aesthetic might expect, this is a varied and expansive set of blends - across almost fifty-five minutes here Simisea takes in widescreen spiritual music, outer-edges electronics, dreamy post-jazz, harmonious folk-rock and pretty much everything in-between. The fact that Lucrecia Dalt, Coil, Sugai Ken and The Soft Pink Truth are just a few of the artists to feature should indicate how this mix manages to strike a great balance between compositional ambition and lush sonics. It all makes for a delightful trip. 

"I’ve been wanting to make a non-dance mix for a while. A lot of the music in this mix has comforted me throughout quarantine. It includes tracks that have brought me euphoria, to tears, and all ranges and depths of emotions and states of being, embodying the kind of music I associate with RVNG."

Innervisions member Marcus Worgull has been distorting time and space with his productions and performances over the last two decades. Seemingly effortlessly, he manages to express his musical vision, encapsulating entire moods and feelings in a single frame of expression. Further expanding this framework, the Cologne-based musician recently ventured into green pastures with the launch of his freshly-minted record label, Chorus.

We caught up with Marcus to hear the latest as he talks studio productivity, life in lockdown, hanging with Barnt, and Chorus. Furthermore, he contributed a soothing listening trip, weaving jazz, folk and spherical moodsetters to lose yourself in, for good measures!

“No anu no party,” as the DJ’s social media handle goes. London-based @nonanunoparty just completed a residency on BBC Asian Network and currently holds one on NTS, where she’ll spin everything from post punk to new wave, left-field house and techno. This genre-less policy finds her making exciting blends like that of Bollywood singers and hip-hop cuts. As well as being a selector,  anu is a talented illustrator (she just designed a T-shirt for Keep Hush and recently drew the cover for FAUZIA’s ‘Fragments’ EP) – an all-round creative in every sense of the word. We were thrilled to call on her for a mix (although it clearly brought up an emotional moment for her). “This mix has been created around my excitement for Diwali on November 14th and to finally have a moment of celebratory respite with my family,” she says. “I’ve been listening to a lot of South Asian music and have started binge watching Bollywood films for the first time, to help settle my urge to travel to India again. This mix goes through Bollywood, Kollywood, hip-hop and psych, with of course a Hosono track thrown in. I hope this mix feels like a warm hug for anyone who can’t be with their family this Diwali.”
