Having established himself as a talented, Jungle-influenced artist, Sam Binary is to appear on The North Quarter with his first extended project on the label. Collaborating with fellow producer Deviant on three tracks and spanning multiple tempos, the EP stays rooted in a common theme: Sam Binary’s love letter to 90s Intelligent Jungle. 

  Using modern techniques and production styles combined with classic hardware such as the E5000 Ultra sampler and the Mackie CR1604-VLZ mixing desk, the Bristol producer has created a unique, 90s-reminiscent sound. The result is bundled in a 7-track EP, equally suited for the dance floor as it is for listening at home.

“This release is really a love letter to 90s Intelligent Jungle and the Liquid Funk that emerged after it in the 2000s, paying homage to the music that inspired me to originally start producing nearly a decade ago”, Sam Binary explains. ‘Reality Slip’ will be released August 19th on The North Quarter.

I believe Music is something we as Humans need now more than ever. 

My love of music started at a young age. My Mother loved Music, taught Piano, enjoyed Dancing, and I have no doubt that she was a major influence on me. I loved playing her records and dancing to them. I discovered my love for collecting tapes, cd's, and soon after started buying Vinyl for Djing. Some of my early influences include a wide variety of styles. I enjoyed music from Midnight Star, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Soul Train, De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, Bob Marley, and so many more. 

Djing started in 1998 and music production started in the year 2000. In 2022, I created my own Record Label, Sense of Awe Music. Evoking the feeling we get in the presence of something vast, beautiful, and sacred which challenges our understanding of the world. This Label finally gives me a platform to express my creativity to its fullest capacity and share it with you! I hope you enjoy the music and follow me along this audio journey where you will likely encounter lush, dubby, cinematic, tribal, techy sounds, massive bass, and groovy beats of all kinds and various tempos.
