Randy Blazak (author, professor and original manager of Drivin N Cryin) reads an impromptu poem "REM" preceding Kevn Kinney's song "REM" in front of Peter Buck *of* REM.  With Jonathan Spencer on bass, Tim Knol on acoustic guitar and harmonies and Laura Slade Wiggins on harmonies.  Worth noting that this is the only song of the mini-tour that Peter Buck did not play on (for obvious reasons).  Laura Slade Wiggins was born and raised in Athens, Georgia.  Jonathan Spencer spent 9 years in Athens and remembers maybe 2.

This encompasses every bit of what drew me to the songwriting and storytelling of Kevn Kinney when I was 14yrs old working at Turtle's Records and Tapes at Chastain Park in Atlanta, Georgia.  Listen carefully to the first tune before the Straight To Hell payoff at the end.  Asheville ppl especially pay close attention.  My face hurt from smiling so hard during this finale.  If the video ever surfaces ... it's out there ... you'll see Laura Slade Wiggins and I doing the REM - "Stand" dance as we sing harmonies over Kevn and Peter's shoulder.  Beyond a dream for me.
