You walk into the grand lobby, greeted by warm smiles, hugs, and fist bumps—because here, everyone feels like family. The air hums with excitement and laughter, mingling with the faint notes of the orchestra warming up behind the curtain. Ushers guide you to your seat, but not before you glance at the bar, where glasses of wine glisten and a bartender shakes up a smoky Scotch Penicillin—a bold choice for the evening.
Inside the theater, the house lights glow softly as people settle in, chatting like old friends. Programs rustle, phones are silenced, and then—slowly—the lights dim. A hush falls over the crowd. You feel the anticipation tighten like a held breath. The conductor raises the baton, and the first notes soar. The musical begins, voices filling the space with harmonies that seem to lift the ceiling.

Backstory

“Father, Take Care of Her for Us in Christ”

This song was born from imagining the moment after Eden, when the dust finally settled and silence wrapped itself around Adam and Eve. Not the moment of judgment—but the moment afterward, when they had to look at each other with new eyes. Eyes that suddenly understood loss, shame, blame, fear… and the terrible weight of what they had broken together.

Adam, once entrusted to lead, protect, and love with truth, finally felt the full collapse of his failure. He realized he had offered Eve everything except the one thing she needed most—God Himself. He had been silent when he should have spoken, passive when he should have defended, proud when he should have humbled himself. And in that realization, his strength, wisdom and beauty vanished. His soul became a hollow echo of what it was meant to be.

Eve, standing beside him, watched the man she loved become lesser because of her own deception and his own neglect. The sorrow she carried was not only for herself—but for what he had become. Two souls now broken in different ways, but bound by the same ache.

In that moment of shared remorse, Adam finally did what he should have done from the beginning:
He turned to the Father.

Not with excuses.
Not with promises he could never keep.
Not with pride or self-righteousness.

But with a single trembling request:

“Father… take care of her for us.
Help her in Christ, where I have failed.”

This song is that prayer.

A plea for restoration only God can give.

God’s work in us may feel like a pierced soul, but it is the loving hand of the Father shaping us through Christ. In grief, we remember His Son was pierced for us, and this was the Father’s will—so that His life could be formed in us, therefore always working.

Intermission
The first act ends in a burst of applause, and the audience spills into the lobby like a joyful tide. You join the flow, exchanging hugs and fist bumps with familiar faces, laughing about favorite moments from the show. The bar is alive with clinking glasses and warm chatter. You order that Scotch Penicillin—smoky, honeyed, with a hint of ginger—and savor its comforting heat as you lean against a marble column, watching the scene unfold like its own performance.
Around you, friends dissect the plot, speculate about Act Two, and share stories. The atmosphere feels less like a theater and more like a family in Christ. A few people notice some indifference to people sipping on soda, mix juice, and water in a moment of celebration and no one is judging them. A gentle chime signals five minutes to curtain. You finish your drink, grab another wine glass and return to your seat, and feel the anticipation rise again. The lights dim, the orchestra swells, and the second act promises even more magic.

Jonathan’s favorite passage of Scripture John 20 v13.  When you are loved by God and He is all that matters in existence, that creates boldness, and no one can separate you from where He is laid and supposed to be laid.  If Christ is removed from the preaching, his children will go where He is laid.

God the Father’s entire plan revolves around His Son and those united to Him. His love, purpose, and actions are all directed toward making us His family in Christ, transforming us into His image, and sharing His glory with us.

With Us

This song had taken a week to nail.  I was missing a song to unfold the heart of the Gospel which to me is Christ Substitutionary Atonement. The God-Man, Christ, is the radiant revelation of the unseen Father. In Him, YHWH speaks—not in shadow, but in flesh and glory. When the soul wanders in the dimness of doubt, let it turn its gaze to the Gospel entrusted to His chosen Apostle, the voice that echoed truth in those sacred days. There, the eternal Word breathes life, and the face of God shines through the Son.

Behold the Hand the Peg

Being clothed in Christ means that when we believe in Him, His righteousness covers us completely. It signifies a new identity, full acceptance by God, and protection from judgment. This “clothing” also transforms us, calling us to live like Christ—rejecting the old self and embracing the new. In Christ, we stand before God not in our sin, but in His perfection.

If God the Father had not send The Begotten God, His promises of grace and mercy in the wilderness alone would have been enough.
