 Two of Ibadan's usual suspects team up for one of the labels greatest moments.

Kerri Chandler and Jerome Sydenham bring an exceptional House flavor to NYC Band, The System. They've added new flavor with fresh and innovative production techniques to one of NYC most popular Synth/Pop outfits. 'You're In My System' is clear proof why. Kerri steps in to remix the track with four new versions.

The A1, is the bearer of the You’re In My System (Atmospheric Vocal). A catchy Rhodes melody enters you into the system of what is soon to be taken over by a heartfelt Garage style male vocal.

The A2, is a tried and true dub version of the original. However, the lack of vocals only puts more focus on the escalating and driving horn section.

B1 gets bi-lingual for all our Latinos. "Estas en mi sistema!"

Wrapping up this release on the B2, is Kerri's pure DJ version. Fully equipping, You’re In My System with juicy 909 hats and crackling snares while adding more emphasis to the bass line. An extended breakdown also creates an added element of suspense.

This is New York House at its best. Feel good club music that puts a smile on your face and a little swing in your hips.

Arguably the best track on the EP, 'VXVXVX' is a rolling masterpiece that oozes groove from the off. It effortlessly blends warm pads with thumping kicks and of course some cosmic whirrings that Brawther has down to a tee. Absolutely stunning.

After Carlos Nilmmns enthralled us with his expressive True Chemistry EP, Circus Company is delighted to welcome a new character into the fold in the form of fast-rising German artist Borrowed Identity. Based in the Southern town of Freiburg im Breisgau, in just a few years he has already released scores of singles for labels as respected as Quintessentials, Fina, Home Taping Is Killing Music and Mistress.

The Borrowed Identity sound is direct and uncomplicated, using classic house and techno styles and applying them to dynamic arrangements that showcase a confident set of studio skills and a deep understanding of what excites the expectant dancer. Across the four tracks on the XXX EP, the perfect balance is struck between powerful rhythmic commands and psychoactive decoration, combining everything needed for a memorable club cut.

“Adictive” leaps out at the listener thanks to the sweeping piano hook and subby bassline, while “Trans Trans Trans” brings a purposefully old-school feeling with its stark square wave synth lines and sleazy vocal groans. Regular Borrowed Identity collaborator Mechanical Soul Brother lends a hand to “The Scene”, which piles on the late night tension with its tightly wound chord stabs and rolling drums, before “Life” showcases a more eclectic side to our latest signing thanks to a bongo-infused percussive throwdown and an uplifting dose of acid.

Every one of these tracks brims with infectious energy, channeling the traditions of peak-time house and techno into a thoroughly modern approach that celebrates the instant gratification of a kick-ass dancefloor weapon, without compromising on that all-important soul.

'You're In My System' from The System a.k.a Jerome Sydenham and Kerri Chandler, is one of the most recognized Ibadan releases. The sultry males vocals, pristine beats and perfect arrangement make it one of the most sought after releases in the catalog. Although these both appear on the original 12”, these re-mastered maxi versions are still essential.

Kerri's Foundation Dub is a tried and true instrumental version of the original. However, the lack of vocals only puts more focus on the uplifting, escalating and driving horn section.

On the flip Kerri and Jerome's pure DJ version 'Jerome's Runaway Dub' is fully equipped with juicy 909 hats and crackling snares while adding more emphasis to the bass line through extra notes and a grittier analog feel layered on top. An extended breakdown also creates an added element of suspense.

Two solid mixes for the DJ's that are after a piece of House history.

Toy Tonics going Afro House. The MUSHROOM HOUSE compilation series part brings 4 unreleased tracks. Including two of the most relevant names of the growing scene: AUNTIE FLO from UK and mysterious producer HYENAH. Hyenah is a favourite of the scene's main man Black Coffee and DJs like Dixon and the Innervisions circle are heavy fans. Also on this EP a new track by Toy Tonics very own ZHUT & KAPOTE. Dessous label boss Steve Bug arranges two special mixes that celebrate and re-juvinate this very special record.

Steve‘s straight up remix maintains the classic vibes with a sensitive 90s themed re-work that calls upon clean, fresh drums and smooth sub bass as its initial building blocks. The instantly recognisable vocal is included, as is the hey-day chord vibes and glorious US house melodies. Simply deadly in the right moments... A Re-Dub version is also included that spaces things out and opens up the strings in a breezy and superbly mixed club tool.

Tom Trago's new 12", the album sampler to the upcoming album The Light Fantastic. Featuring the dancefloor stomper "Two Together" which was co-produced by Steffi, "True Friends" featuring Breach on the vocals and the non-album track "Avenido". Big TIp! 

Tom Trago is back, giddily dancing out of the studio into the dizzying light of a European summer. Tucked under his arm are the masters for his third album, The Light Fantastic.

Since his most recent appearance on Rush Hour last autumn, Trago has spent most of his time in the studio. Over four memorable months, he constantly jammed, recorded, tweaked and produced tracks, until he had enough strong material to put together what might just be his best full-length to date. 

Along the way, he was joined by an impressive guest list of guests and collaborators from Amsterdam and beyond, all of who were roped in after “popping into the studio to hang out”. 

You’ll have to wait to hear the album, but the good news is that there’s an enticing teaser of what’s to come in the shape of this formidable three-track taster. One of the tracks, the chiming, loose-limbed, bass-heavy workout “Avenido”, is exclusive to this 12”.

When he sat down to make The Light Fantastic, Trago was keen to recapture the essence of his early work, and particularly the melodic warmth, kaleidoscopic chords and robust grooves that characterized his 2009 debut album, Voyage Direct. This time, though, he wanted to rely less on samples and apply the lessons learnt from four years of largely acclaimed production work. As a result, The Light Fantastic oozes a gleeful sense of fun, whilst retaining the depth and definition that has always been a hallmark of Trago’s work.

The two album tracks featured on this sampler confirm the rich dividends that this new approach brought. “True Friends”, featuring the combined talents of Brit-in-Amsterdam Ben Westbeech and local hero San Proper, bristles with loved-up positivity, all bubbling electronic melodies, fuzzy vocoder vocals and jaunty, bottom-end bounce.

Then there’s the small matter of “Two Together”, an extra large helping of the kind of loopy, feel-good deep house funk with which he made his name. Expertly teased, tweaked and produced, it sees nagging hooks, darting synths, jazz keys and disco stabs riding a relentless, full-throttle groove. Co-produced with Berlin-based Dutch producer Steffi, it’s nothing less than a wide-eyed late night rush. If it doesn’t have you tripping The Light Fantastic, nothing will.
