Commissioned from Robert Saxton (Oxford University), the piece is in memory of the composer Oliver Knussen (1952-2018), Richard Rodney Bennett Professor of Music at the Royal Academy of Music. Jonathan gave the first performance at Westminster Cathedral on Sunday 7th April 2019.

I'm taking a break after 7 hours of teaching on zoom yesterday(!) to record some Sweelinck, longtime organist of the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam. The 400th anniversary of his death falls in 2021.
