Jonathan David & Veev - Crash Of 69 (Original Mix)

For the first Cueca Recordings release it had to be a special one. Co-owner Matt McLarrie was at the BPM festival in Mexico and took field recordings of a flamingo pond that was in his hotel. It was only fitting that those recordings were used to create the first single 'Flamingo Hotel'. The vocals you hear are from Matt himself which makes this track extra special. On his return Matt and production partner/co-owner Jonathan David decided to turn these samples into a launching track for the label. Intense atmosphere and jungle sounds run throughout the track as a driving bass completes this groovy, organic and tribal story of a journey in a Mexican jungle. We are incredibly excited to have one of our favourite producers Hauswerks on the remix. He has released on todays biggest labels including Moon Harbour, Hot Creations and Viva Music. In his interpretation of the original mix, he has taken the main jungle theme and turned it into a chunkier sub bass laden vibe that has became a signature of his sound. The random drum fills, clever use of the vocal parts and highlighting of the live flamingo sounds has taken this release from the jungle to the clubs. We really hope you feel this release as much as we do in celebration of the launch of Cueca Recordings.

After their recent success with "The Boom Boom Room" on Todd Terry's InHouse Records, Dantiez Saunderson, Jonathan David and Matt McLarrie join forces again on "Last Train To Ceremony'.

Rolling tribal percussion and subtle vocal run throughout the track with a solid sub bass supporting it all. A classic pad stab keeps it chugging along before the track climaxes with a euphoric ethnic flute and ethereal chanting as you reach the ceremony.

On remix duties we are delighted to have secured rising star Saul Antolin. His tracks have been given the seal of approval recently by Music On head honcho Marco Carola. You can see why as his clever use of the vocal parts and relentless chunky groove turns the original mix into a terrace weapon.

CUE004 is a release that has been in the making for the past few years and we could not be more honoured to finally unveil this very special project. We at Cueca find it of the utmost importance to have a vision in all that we do. The vision that we have established for the label is one of quality and intelligent house music, especially in the realms of world ethnic sound and tribal experiences. In that spirit 'The Message Is One' EP is brought to us from our dear friend and brother Antonio Tavares from Lisboa Portugal. Antonio is known to fans and DJs simply as Glender. For the past twelve years, he has become one of the most recognized names in house music and is very well known for his particularly special talent of creating some of the most beautiful and timeless ethnic productions in the world. He has been a massive influence and friend to Cueca Recordings as a whole, and this release could not be more special for the Cueca family. 

'The Message Is One' is a journey through classic Glender organic drum treatments and as always it is an expression of his personal experience. World instruments and tribal chanting set the tone while his use of percussion carries the track to the to that magical place his music is known to take you. Cueca Recordings wholeheartedly welcomes Glender to the label with this wonderful original production to start off 2019.

On the remix label bosses Jonathan David and Matt McLarrie put their own personal spin on this already amazing original. Their addition of grinding basslines and vocal chops give it their own direction but just as dance floor ready as the original. Jonathan David A.K.A. ( Jon Sweet-e ) is a DJ/Producer from Toronto Canada. Coming from a mixed background of a Chilean mother and a father from Germany, Jonathan's DJ sets and productions sit somewhere right in the middle of these two cultures. He is also self taught in several instruments and is no stranger to vocal singing and performance.

With a long and ever growing journey through the Canadian Electronic music scene, Jonathan has been at it since 1997 promoting his own club nights as well as Djing across Canada and the world alike. With a lengthy history in the scene, production was inevitable and a natural next step for this House and Techno junkie. A soul desire for beats, passion, love and community are what Jonathan's whole game is all about. You can hear and feel it in his set's, and his productions have followed right along with the same rhythm. 


Along with being locked in the studio perfecting his craft, he has also been busy touring and promoting his music. He has played in many cites through out Europe, as well as North American and Mexico. 

Currently Jonathan has been working in the studio writing new original tracks for waiting label's. Busy is an understatement when it comes to this up and comer. It's been noticed that even in the early stages of his productions , Jonathan has always had his own sound and direction within the music that he creates. Always setting out to achieve mood and emotion through sound scapes and rhythmic repetition. House music is the religion for Jonathan but Tribal and Tech are the flavor. Always a journey and and experience with Jonathan's productions for beginning to end.
