Flight Coda - there's a planet on your chest

The planet laying on your chest is unwieldy and incredible. It’s a rock placed on your solar plexus as you lay in a bath. The water is bubbling around your ears as you drift backwards. Hair floats around your peripheral, like seaweed. Submerging your head an exhaust of air pours out of your lungs, a generous flow of blood visits your eyeballs as you softly close the lids. The warm water is soothing, you inhale the aroma of lavender, it reminds you of an unforgiving location, but it’s pleasant. Your mind wonders as you stare out the window and notice the mould in the corner.

Explorational recording of what I suspect is a transformer station, at the entrance to Villa Borghese in Rome. Strange green birds fly overhead crunchy leaves under foot. For the best experience use headphones and close your eyes.

Ascending the stairs of Colchester's town hall I discovered two men repairing the grand Organ in the historic Moot Hall, as part of a major restoration project. I asked if I could sit and record them in the process of tapping and testing the voices resulting in some amazing drones. 
This is a binaural recording containing much background noise from the busy street outside, busses cars and dinging church bells, with loads of reverb from the cavernous room.


The Moot Hall Organ in Colchester Town Hall was a gift from Sir Weetman D. Pearson, Bart. MP for Colchester in 1902.

Repair of The Moot Hall Organ [Binaural]

An exploration of one of the rock groynes on Felixstowe beach. I am holding the microphones in these very small caves where you can hear the water sloshing around and a very deep muffled rumble of the waves dancing over the shoreline pounding the rocks relentlessly. I moved from cave to cave to get an example of each little space, water flying overhead meant it was hard to stay in one place for too long without ruining my equipment so I have left some parts with me moving the mics around in.

Exploring Tiny Caves in the Rocks [Excerpts]

Standing under the Pier on Felixstowe beach, the waves create reflections resulting in almost swelling white noise, with little accents creeping through. The audible contrast is alarming compared to the open environment outside.

Under the Pier on Felixstowe Beach

Taking shelter next to a rock groyne many of which cut through the beach in Felixstowe. Blustery relentless wind cascades over the barrier, seagulls drift overhead and the sea rages in the foreground. In the far distance you can hear the low rumble of cargo ships. After some time, you start to notice resonant oceanic melodies coming from the swelling, crashing waves.
