Release notes:
Irish sensation David Broaders returns to Arrival, having gained significant career momentum since we last heard from him. Specifically, earlier this year on our imprint, he produced a standout remix of Reimu's acclaimed track "Wonderland"; more recently, he collaborated with Terry Da Libra on the Enhanced single "Loss Aversion", which Armin van Buuren just supported on "A State of Trance". His latest work, "Curracloe", comes with interpretations from label residents Vintage & Morelli and Matt Fax, both of whom have been supported regularly by Above & Beyond this past year.

The original mix starts out with a soothing soundscape, including lush sound effects and pad layers. A haunting male vocal stem emerges, which is followed by calm and enjoyable percussion rhythms. Throughout the track, countless well-crafted and inspiring melodies are introduced.

Serbian artist Vintage & Morelli begins his interpretation with a strong percussion line and hypnotizing pads. A unique rhythm is soon established, with a groovy bassline and lush background synth stabs. The break includes a soothing piano melody, and the energetic theme riff continues thereafter.

The remix from French artist Matt Fax starts off with a lush atmosphere, containing soothing pads and intriguing synth stabs and background sound effects. The break introduces smooth piano melodies, and the track continues with energetic theme riffs, followed by lovely synth variations.

A few years ago, Moby (born Richard Melville Hall) decided that it was time for a change so he packed up and moved from his beloved New York to sunny LA. This fresh, new outlook permeates his 11th studio album, Innocents. One day, as the story goes, he was riding around town listening to “Morning Becomes Eclectic” on local radio station KCRW, and he heard a Damien Jurado song come on the air — and the rest is history. 

“Originally, ‘Almost Home’ was a fully finished song,” recalls Moby. “But I love Damien’s approach to melody and lyrics so I gave it to him as an instrumental. What he did was much better than anything I’d come up with.”

"When I get asked to do mixes I often take that as an opportunity to put together a selection of my favourite pieces from a specific era, genre or composer. In this case I compiled a number of my favourite Japanese electronic tracks as I have been listening to a lot of that stuff for the past year or so."

Throughout the last decade Ulrich Schnauss has produced three albums which perfectly captured his vision of taking the 90's 'Shoegaze' aesthetic - very uncool at the time as we'll discuss below - and placing it into an electronic context. With the new album 'A Long Way To Fall' Ulrich felt the need to change and explore new avenues. And it's another beauty.

On the 3rd July, German born musician and producer Ulrich Schnauss will play an extra special live A/V show at Electrowerkz. We decided that this was the perfect time to have him create his Ransom Note Mix and we caught up with him to find out a bit more about his background, his mix and his general thought on music;

Blurred Memories (feat. Synkro)

Last year, a couple of months before the ASOT600 tour, Dennis of Alda Events approached me with a random request: putting together music for the first hour of each live show, creating a vibe in the venues while the crowd entered the venue. Something that would build a certain vibe or tension. I took the challenge, but instead of making a DJ mix, I decided to fully produce this show element. After months of work I finished the hour of music, and it was used during the tour.  After the tour, I didn't even think that people would be interested seeing this as a regular release, as it was easy listening music. I decided to give the music away on Facebook, as a dedication to the two cities and crowds I played for during this ASOT600 tour: Sao Paulo and Sofia.   One year later, ' From Sao Paulo To Sofia' has been embraced by many people, including I would say, the least expected person in the dance industry: Hardwell.  He has used the full album as warm up music during his massive 'I AM Hardwell' tour, as well as in his documentary.   As all of the tracks on the album are non-danceable tracks, I have asked my favorite producers to give their own twist to the tracks, and in your hands is the result!
