The entire thing was hauntung, but the ending it on a note that didn't resolve was by far my favorite part, simply because it makes me want to hear more, The song leaves you with a yearning, and THATS what your fans will have, is a yearning. good job dude :)

On August 11th 2011, the first 'official' album for the project johnny_ripper was released online, titled 'soundtrack for a film that doesn't exist'. A concept & sound that lasted 6 years, 6 albums, 3 remix compilations & a collaborative EP; before the name was eventually changed to 'Joni Void' in 2017.

Retrospective is a compilation of 19 songs / selection of early material from johnny_ripper, with fresh remasters from Amar Lal, focusing particularly on original compositions / the 'soundtrack piano' material of the first albums, creating what is essentially the most 'personal' album to date in that sense. This is the first time a johnny_ripper release is pressed on a physical format.

Introduction:
| Hey, I am Solas, a composer who primarily creates Irish/Celtic/Viking fantasy music. My biggest influences in music definitely are, Adrian Von Ziegler for his Celtic music, and Hans Zimmer for the incredible film scores that he has crafted, I also draw a lot of inspiration from TV shows such as Game Of Thrones, The Last Kingdom, The Witcher, and the following games being, Skyrim/Elder Scrolls Online, Zelda, Dark Souls, the Diablo Franchise, World of Warcraft, and Ashes of Creation.
I have also recently been greatly inspired by the haunting and moving compositions by Darren and Peter Gundry, and also the likes of Danheim for Viking music.

Emmy award-winning composer Michael Price shares the beautiful new piece Sandham, taken from his forthcoming album Tender Symmetry released on August 31 with Erased Tapes.

The ambitious musical project takes in a series of iconic National Trust locations across the UK as its inspiration, turning them into unlikely recording spaces. Michael and a host of musicians and collaborators — including soprano Grace Davidson (featured on Max Richter’s Sleep) and Shards (the choir on Nils Frahm’s All Melody) — travelled across the country in pursuit of places far removed from the traditional studio to create seven unique and moving pieces.

"Sandham Memorial Chapel, built in the 1920s, is both a place of reflection and healing, but also a timely reminder, though the extraordinary paintings of Stanley Spencer, of the horrors of war. Stepping out of the fragrant wild-flower garden and into the cool, naturally-lit interior of the chapel was a transportation to a time early in the last century where young men and women were either inflicting terrible injuries on each other, or tenderly caring for those wounds. A place that is both uniquely of the First World War, and utterly contemporary." — Michael Price

The diversity of Michael Price’s choices ranges from the ruins of Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire to the Fan Bay WWII shelter, cut deep into the chalk cliffs of Dover. All owned by the National Trust save one, each venue became both the inspiration and the recording studio for Michael Price and his accompaniment of renowned musical ensembles, choirs and soloists.

"I am interested in where we build our homes in an increasingly virtual world and the spirit of place we feel as we walk our local streets, our schools, temples and public spaces. Taking inspiration from a place, and the stories it told, then going back to that place to record, sometimes in less than ideal conditions, made the two-year adventure much more like shooting a film than making a record.” — Michael Price

A little ambient piece I wrote yesterday afternoon.. Sorry not to have so much time for composing music until July, but I really wanted to share something with you in a little free time from my studying.

I always thought of ambient music as a way to effectively depict soundscapes with notes and musical colors (frequencies, tones, silences).

I’ll listen to this with closed eyes and I’ll see sounds painting a landscape in the imaginary space. Like emerging from the deepness of your thoughts, and sorrounding you with its presence, because it's you who has been creating it. Music conceals places in its notes.

I called that place "The wastelands", a distant landscape brought back to our time for a little moment, as it were while the wind blew in the cloudy sky and the sun set over the horizon of the open fields.

Just like a dream, at the end you open your eyes and there's no trace left, if not a subtle sensation of having been there, somewhere, sometime...

Oh, that is me in the picture. I was about 4/5 years old. I had an imaginary friend, my ride-on toy Thomas The Tank Engine. I was strongly convinced that it was alive. I used to take him everywhere with me, even set up a place for him at the table on a few occasions, try to feed him, give him something to drink. I still have a few clear memories of this. 
Please don't forget who you were as a child.
