Manchester's finest, loudest, roughest and toughest sound system - the Dub Smugglers step out from behind the scoops for their debut musical outing on NICE UP!. Being good friends of the label - sharing stages at festivals, clubs and even boat parties around Europe over the years it seemed only right a musical union should happen at some point - and here it is. Teaming up with Jamaican legend and veteran mic-man Burro Banton (recently heard on Chase & Status' massive "Return II Jungle" album) they inject some new life into a classic dancehall rhythm bringing it bang up to date.

Burro does what he does best - lacing the track with his trademark hard and fast chatting, creating a modern classic. Road tested on one of the finest sound systems in the land, this definitely packs a heavy punch in the dance. Joni is originally a classically trained violinist whose musical education and sound straddles the divide between the organic instrument and the electronic bass world. Joni's naturally soulful singing style is combined with electronic beats and smart lyrics to make a sound all of her own. She has worked with many prominent Irish producers across many diferent genres such as Eomac, Deviant, T-Woc and Major Grave. Her debut single 'Running' was featured on BBC Radio 1, and appeared on Nialler9, Disco Naivete and Dazed and Confused.
