A comparison between Funky Junk Solid Compressor 202 Gold Edition & IGS S-Type 500, both 500-series clones of the famous SSL Bus Comp. The Funky Junk uses vintage out-of-production Dbx 202c "gold can" VCAs, where the IGS uses modern THAT VCAs that are now commonly used as replacements.

Some of the provided clips compare the two compressors, always with the FJ first, followed by the IGS. Where the settings differ between the FJ and IGS, it's indicated by a "/" for that setting. For example, the FJ uses a 160hz side-chain where the IGS uses a 180hz side-chain, but for testing purposes this is as close as I could get them to matched for that range of side-chain.

Some clips demonstrate the FJ's Warp feature, which emphasizes 3rd-order harmonic distortion in the Dbx 202c. Where that's used, the "W" parameter is specified to match the setting used. For example, Wx2@85% means Warp on the x2 setting with the knob at 85%.
