You crossed my mind the other day
Stared at my phone thought of what I’d say
Should I call?
Would you answer at all?
You got me terrified I’d only stutter, stammer, or stall
Will we be ok?
The morning sky’s familiar hue
The glistened grass of evening dew
Watch and weep as the day fades to grey
Reminiscing of the time before you floated away
Will we be ok?
We’re synchronized, but not in tune
A nuclear fallout was our doom
We collapsed like faulty pillars and beams
Small cracks in the foundation can be worse than it seems
Will we be ok?
Once thought that blood was thicker
Turns out it drains out quicker
When you apply some pressure
It’s the newest trick in the book

Sometimes when I’m feeling stressed I’ll go for a drive 
When I need a reminder of why I’m alive 
When everything is crashing down and I need to hide
I go there, and I breathe in, and I am revived. 

So don’t despair.

In a tapestry of oaks and ferns 
and microscopic things you’ve learned 
That were shouted out but never heard
