Like most of my work, this track is entirely experimental as I explore the depths of ableton suite and its various tools and settings. The production of this track occurred during an extremely hard time in my life, a horrendous tragedy. That is why the track experiences a wide range of tonal change and emotions, especially the heavy and sometimes obnoxious percussion inspired by early works of DJ Shadow. Thanks to 31-439 for allowing me to throw paint at your canvas!

The intro opens in a void of deep space, eventually entering the wormhole. Only the cybernetic pilot can endure the harshness of space travel and the effects on organic tissue. On the other end of the wormhole, the pilot makes it to the capital galactic city to trade wares with a local mob boss in the slums. Afterwards, he stops off in the Bar Castella for a drink, and listens to a wonderful musical robot named Jonny 5ive. They became good friends and the pilot makes regular visits to J5 to perform interval maintenance.

I misspelled the name "rift" as in "guitar rift", and rikft was born. This song is the 2nd version, built from a very old Nanostudio import. The drums were given more attention than normal. This song decided it wanted to sound like the Jam band Particle, so I obliged. I hope you enjoy!

This project is a simulated experience. You are listening to the Jonny 5 musical robot Serial# A00785, manufactured as a replacement of juke boxes and human disc jockeys. Jonny 5ive plays his music in a dark, smoky, dystopian, shantytown future bar called "Castella" to ease the strain on the minds of the working class. His traveling shows are quite popular in the Dogtown slums and Mechano district.
