London-based artist Jonny cade has already enjoyed solid recognition for his releases on the likes of 2020 Vision and Morris Audio. This time round, he raises his game once again for Music Is Love’s 10th release, dishing up a serious dose of house goodness aimed squarely at the dance floor.

Get On My kicks off proceedings with hurrying drums that shuffle over a rumbling bassline until 90s inflicted keys quicken and build the tempo over the course of the track. The ticking hi-hats, snares and hand claps are woven intricately over the shifting key stabs, while a faint female vocal teases and whirls throughout.

Confused Keys slows the tempo slightly, with a more defined bassline paving out against the groove laden percussion sequences and distorted vocal sample. Elasticated keys ricochet off each other until a melodic interchange of pads submerse at the break, slicing the elements of the beat and taking it closer to peak-time.

Nottingham's Nail adds resounding deepness with his mix of Get On My. Shuddering key pads flourish to form the fore of the track, bouncing off the percussive loops that rhythmically swing out over faint synths to add a true deep breadth to his remix .

Give it All Up finishes off the 4 track EP the way it started: swift pace, swaggering 90’s inspired house. A flurry of claps and snares are matched by groove-heavy drums and a vocal sample that upends the overall hands-in-the-air mood of the EP. Fomenting his own melodic sound that is part house, part garage, Cades material is coherently woven together, without ever being cast free from an underlying rhythmic house groove throughout.

Jonny Cade is one of a number of young producers whose mature approach to music, DJing and production belies his relatively tender years. From his residency at Leeds’ Flux to productions on the likes of 2020:Vision, MoodMusic, Kolour Recordings, Leftroom and Saints and Sonnets, Jonny has fast created a name for himself as a musician to watch out for.

His brand of garage-house and techno was first noticed by UK producer Huxley back in 2010. Through a respect of the art and love of music, they paired up to create the sounds of ‘London to Leeds’ which was released on Kolour Recordings and went on to stay in the Juno vinyl charts for several weeks. Since then, Jonny has steadily progressed through the scene, having produced for the likes of Leftroom and MoodMusic, landing himself in the hands of 2020:Vision's head-honcho Ralph Lawson, where he released his ‘Find My Way’ EP on August 2013. With the 2020 EP in the bag, Jonny has since released on Morris Audio and Alive Records. Next in the running is his 'Get Off My' EP on Oli Furness's label Music Is Love.  

Jonny was surrounded by house music from an early age, having a strong connection with the clubbing scene. His dedication to the music and his natural aptitude for mixing has helped also develop the keen ear that keeps low to the ground, especially in terms of new and ground-breaking contemporary music. Without a doubt, Jonny's 16 years of studying drums and percussion, has largely influenced his productions with a unique dexterity for rhythm. Coupled with his collaborations with well respected Huxley he continues to catch the hearts and minds of industry heavy weights with his laid back grooves and ultra original sounds.
