T-shirt suntan is about the highs and lows, the freedom and loneliness, of travelling by myself. If travelling with others, I may not have stayed up for an hour listening to the busying of insects after a light rain at midnight, but also probably would have been able to sleep without focussing on the argument of the hotel room next door. By myself, I start to notice and interact with situations and feelings that would not exist when with other people. If you want to stop for coffee, you just stop for coffee.

Endless summers of sunset strewn beach parties and wandering through new cities with old friends sets the backdrop to End of Summer. Lilting into lazy surf rock playlist territories, End Of Summer is about taking a breath and reflecting back at those perfect slow summer months that never last long enough. Always acknowledging contentment in the fact that we had the time, whilst being satisfied with the chapter drawing to a close. Even as the season draws to a close, we hope to keep the spirit of summer alive with this track.

Under the brilliant summer sun in my garden, I wrote "Santa Cruz," with the intent of capturing and conveying that very feeling within the song. The heart of the chorus, "Right On Santa Cruz," came from an unconventional encounter I had with a motel check-in attendant. He was casually enjoying his banana smoothie, sun-kissed with his feet crossed on the check-in desk, punctuating every interaction with a carefree "right on." The verse lyrics are centred around discovering the Californian coastline, with a few hidden double meanings thrown in. My intention was simplicity and a laidback structure that allowed the energy to flow through the lyrics and vocal melody.
