There was an exotic skyline as the sun began to sink beneath the clouds, the trees blew in the wind and watched the water which rolled gently in towards the beach below. Being with you, he thought to himself, was the most bittersweet blessing. Here on the island he was never alone, for the wild things all around him were enough to keep him emboldened and enlightened. Soon darkness would fall and he would need to retreat once more to his place of rest, a time to think about what had come and gone before. 

Poly Tone features on a new split EP being released by Manchetser based crew Roadkill. This record draws upon elements of dub, techno and UK bass. It's a heads down affair, one for the discerning dancer and the late night wanderer.

'Tomahawk' on the A side is a hypnotic dancefloor stepper complete with dread inducing technoid sound design, and a rolling feel in the drums, with elements of techstep and jungle fused into a solidified concrete Junglist weapon.

The flip sees Mahakala transform into a spaced out drumfunk workout, taking the 'alligator boogalo' break to new heights over a pastel soundscape, with moments of tension and release that create the cerebral workout that is 'The Realms'.

Ambient soundscapes, dubbed out chords and swirling arps: Subtle Oscillations is a compilation of blissful sonic textures from a collection of up and coming producers associated with the Size 13 collective.

Opening the EP is the luscious and dub infused “Candle Lit” from Manchester producer 4TGANG. The soothing vocals and gradually building percussive elements of the track leave the listener in a state of euphoria - sheer bliss to kick off the new year from an outfit that we'll be keeping a close eye on.
