Summer Camp @ AfrikaBurn 2015 - Day1

1st Dawn on the Binnekring saw Summer Camp rise from the desert floor, somewhat slowly to begin with; it had been a long slow journey there the previous day with RaveRover cunningly disguised as a road-legal 1985 LandRover heavily laden with Harry, Craig and Pieter's  wizardry packed inside.  

Like magic, or perhaps it was the morning broffees, the camp sprung to life, with stretch tents stretched. Rebar, banter, rebar, banter. Rebar, rebar, banter. More rebar.  Decorations, adornments, cushions and fluffy stuff.  

By late afternoon it was time to set up the camp's small sound system, put a premixed playlist on, have a sundowner and watch the first of many jaw-dropping delicious sunsets. RaveRover was the ultimate viewing deck.  

On top of RoveRaver, eyeballs glued to the fiery sky to the west, we had no idea that behind us under the stretchies, there was party in full swing, without us.  

Pieter Fk'n Wessels grabbed my arm, stared me down, grinned, and said.... "Fok! Someone should go down and at least make it look like there's a dj. Twist a knob or something."  

No further persuasion necessary, this short mix (after recently discovering I hadn't lost the recording to the dust and ash) is what my first Tankwa Twilight made me do........ before G-Wok ushered in the night with the thumpymost of tech house sets! 

A profound first night at the Burn ensued... with a gathering of the most incredible, mad, wonderful, unashamedly happy, giving, hard working, fun-loving, crew of skabengas around!
