Way back in 1994, Pat suggested a cover song, the "Silver Spoons" theme song.  Remember Ricky Schroder riding the model train through the house?  Erin Gray in her finest role?  We do.  We played this at our first show at the Coral Springs City Center on Dec 29, 1994.  It stuck around for a few years and never came back.  This version is from 1996-1997.  @Pat Stahl , Frank Scott, and Jon Shaker are on this one.

Silver Spoons

"About Us" was a Shakers 1.0 song, written in 1995, it was a cheesy love song released on "Less Than Shake".   The song featured some acoustic guitar and a very rare bass guitar solo.  We played it with Shakers 2.0 and it was retired before Shakers 3.0.

This song started as a joke in the warehouse at practice on night. I picked up the guitar at Shakers practice one day and played a chord progression from the ska band I was playing drums for. Pat jumped on drums and we messed around for a while. Can’t believe we actually recorded it in the studio. Then, Jon laid down his magic vocals and after an amazing kazoo performance, panties were dropping left and right. Even know it never really made it to a record, it was so much fun to play this song and glad it’s a part of this band’s history.

"Pseudo Intellectual" was written in 1994 and this version was recorded in June 1995.  It was released on "Shaken Not Stirred" in 1995. It was our first demo in a studio environment.  It was recorded in a warehouse in Davie, on an 8 track machine.  We did another version in 1996, where it goes right into "Frat Boy".  "Pseudo-Frat" was on the set list a lot between 1996- 1997.

Pantydropper was about a girl of course, a song about love, regret, and waiting too long to share your feelings.  Written in the early 2000's, she never knew it was written about her.  If we actually released this song in the early 2000's, we could have been emo legends.

In 1995, we wrote the worst song ever, BingOI.  Imagine the children's song Bingo, but about a skinhead.  This song only lasted a couple of shows.  This recording is from a live recording at our second show which took place at FAU in February 1995.

We had this great idea for a concept band called the Damones, where we would have played the entire soundtrack of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" dressed up as our favorite version of Mike Damone.  Sadly, it never happened, but we managed to do a recording of "Somebody's Baby" by Jackson Browne.

We don't know how this ever happened.  Somehow we decided to do "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' " by the Righteous Brothers.  The thing is, we didn't speed it up.  Our version is a mix between the original and the Hall and Oates version with a little liberty on the arrangement.

Back in the day we called the song "Jesse Hates" because it was his least favorite one on the record.  He thought is was a lot angrier that the other songs we played at the time.  Still pretty good though.
