Land, Sea and Sky - Introduction

Wonderful song: that says it all. Loads of fun to play. Thanks loads to Graham Moore, on behalf of us all, for writing it; and thanks to Joe Solo too, as I use his words in the third verse: Graham had it, "This is the Age of Reason, these are the Rights of Man / Kick out religion and monarchy, it was written in Tom Paine's plan" - which is great stuff, but as an agnostic, I was wondering about changing it to something that spoke more honestly for myself; then I heard Joe's words, and they said it. I'd like to think I COULD be a revolutionary, but sometimes it's more complex; he says it perfectly. So thanks to him too.

I started writing this on a family holiday to Berlin in 2013: we did what all politically-conscious Western tourists do, and visited Checkpoint Charlie, which was - complicated. Around the same time, it was in the news that the CIA had been tapping Angela Merkel's 'phone calls.

Storyteller and songwriter; grew up in Wokingham, Berkshire and now based in Brighton, East Sussex. I tell stories from myth and from history about people living their lives here on the Earth; but also sing and play folky-country indie-rock about history (again), politics, and modern life.
