It's high time for the new installment of our flagship mini-compilation called "Deeper Roots". On the 14th volume, you can listen to carefully selected, unique underground sounds coming from the most talented producers from different corners of our planet. We come with four fresh pieces of deep and hypnotic electronic music delivered by both Deepersense Music veterans and debutants. We're glad and proud to warmly welcome new, talented artists in the Deepersense Music family: Alex Goldsmith from Canada and Deep Swim from Argentina. They've joined us with new, deep, groovy proggy tracks called "Where We Meet" and "Synthetic Trip". As if that wasn't enough, our dear artist Darkskye delivered a fresh and yet again fantastic, trippy track titled "Transmeditate" that you can hear for the first time on this very compilation, as well as a special, yet not published, progressive breaks remix to the previously released and highly acclaimed "Brave New World" track by label head-honcho CJ Art. You can feel different inspirations in each track, but they are all definitely related to deeper roots. All tracks combine a reference to the tradition of true, deep and hypnotic electronic music.

Finding Ourselves

First track from an upcoming album inspired by Shpongle's take on a chilled and down tempo approach to Psytrance with multi-continental influences.

production notes:
This started out with a narrative I wrote for the track about a lone figure that awoke without memory in a cave that appeared to be sentient, and inhabited ravers entranced by strange relics. The usual psychedelic trope stuff. I recorded the vocals myself, and used them to inform the initial arrangement of the track. It became evident that the story would result in a evolving and winding musical expedition. However, my voice really didn't suit it. So I used elevenlabs to generate a new AI version of the vocals - that are used here. Later I stripped most of the vocals out, however the story they informed is now the song.

Each track I make offers new challenges.. here I really wanted to shift genres and sounds a lot. It sounds quite basic, but there's a lot going on here from a bassline that absolutely isn't traditional psytrance (although the base pattern is inspired by "Robotoised" by Quirk), to shifting from saw bass, to square wave, to switching the whole thing up in to a Brazil-inspired shponglised breakdown - considering I had no knowledge of this musical style, let alone how to produce it. However the real challenge was finishing this track. The arrangement has been 'complete' for months now with me tweaking and trying to polish it up enough to release it. 

I also decided to make this a multi-part song. Again, inspired by Shpongle albums where tracks eb and flow between each other. Part 2 of this isn't included here, but I hope I can make it become a full mixed album. Something for later.
