Dubfire & Flug - Rampart

Italian Techno heavyweights Markantonio and Rino Cerrone finally name their collaborative ventures after ten years of gigs and productions together, and the name is Junction Hands.

'Revolution is Back' is the first full release under the Junction Hands moniker, following a well received outing as part of the recent 'The Napoli Connection EP' on Adam Beyer's Drumcode and it sees the two veterans deliver some of their strongest work yet.

The title track is a pacey number with a reverb soaked yet warm atmosphere which underpins an aggressive, simple and incredibly effective bass/drum loop which gains intensity throughout. Sharp sounds puncture the groove here there which keeps things interesting but it's the discordant stabs in the break which push things into overdrive.

The equally hypnotic and driving 'Thing For Hands' follows but manages to do so with an increased feeling of woozy menace. Synths feedback on themselves to shattering crescendos before subsiding into waves of Noise while the groove relentlessly works it's magic.

With Junction Hands there's yet another must-check name coming out of the Neapolitan scene.

First up is the 'Rave Tool', which sees them unleash a large dose of their typical grit and aggression. True to form, their rumbling sub-bass and stripped percussion warm the flow, letting an off-beat and almost wonky synth pattern work its weight... With an early break-down disrobing and deconstructing the elements, emphasis is on the rhythm, allowing feedback effects to create the subdued tension.

For the 15 years of Terminal M festivities it was a sure step to also get back into our catalogue and obviously listened to the older releases again. And it quickly came to our mind that Monika Kruses @ Voodooamt's classic 'Passengers' album from 2003 still is a true gem. So we reworked and remastered the whole album and asked close friends to select a track they wanted to remix. Oliver Huntemann, Alberto Ruiz and Skober immediately agreed and surprised us with their great new interpretations.
