Episode 10 of Gem FM is a live set by Joop Junior. The the Hague based techno artist exploded onto the scene when Richie Hawtin released his first EP's on Minus. Since the early start of his career Joop Junior has been playing Gem Session events. He later became part of the Gem Bookings roster.

Justin James is set to release a full remix package from his debut LP, 'Compile,' featuring remix contributions from an all-star line-up of techno heavyweights. This offering appropriately named Compile [revisited] includes twelve unique interpretations of Compile’s originals from visionaries such as Sudo, Raul Facio, Jorge Ciccioli, Elmar Strathe, Joop Junior, Sean Random, Nathan Jonson, Ataxia, Fer BR, Florian Frings, Click Box, and 4Yo4U.

Released on refused. last year, James' first artist album titled 'Compile' ignited the sacred techno culture. The twelve hard hitting original productions demonstrated Justin's high regard within the realms of the underground music world. Each track embodies Justin's production precision and ability to deliver powerful percussion propelled by driving basslines which have become authentic signatures of his work. This sonically encapsulating album paid true homage to Justin's craft, further cementing his stamp on the glorious genre of techno.

Introductions to Joop Junior - our next guest for DJ Mix series, closing in episode number 515. Keeping it on the low and having an outsider outlook, Joop had been an influental figure in techno scene for a while now. Richie Hawtin's Minus, Dubfire's SCI+TEC, John Digweed's Bedrock and 2000 and One's Bitten had been blessed with his music; Crobar in Buenos Aires, Output in New York City, Showcase in Paris, Lantern in Beijing have witnessed his spiritual techno sound in action; Time Warp, Awakenings, Family Park gave the opportunity to spread the word into masses. Each live performance gets Joop deeper into the sound, securing his position in techno premiership, each heavily-supported release helping him to find his own sound, his own ideology, his own technique. His own space.

Joop's music is one step closer to God, almost religious experience. He is not interested in trends. He does not believe in hype. To fully understand his sound, you just have to be there, in the moment.

Today's mix is something really special. You are being invited to The House Of God (@thogchurch). Sending chills down your spine with the cleansing power of electronic prayer sung by the machines. Within this hour you are getting to know Joop Junior's alter ego Foul Play - a collaboration of his with  Fabian van Heusden, who goes under the moniker DJ Firmware (@firmware).
