Taking a break from the Neo Geo, I decided to make a Genesis tune. I actually started this one before I started making the song Subconscious, but my ideas for making this tune got a little dry at some point, so I made and finished that one while leaving this off to the side. Normally, something like this would cause me to abandon whatever song I'm making, but I was able to continue how I wanted this song to be. I might consider this the "unofficial" sequel to my song Cosmic Pizza. I used some melodies from a song I scrapped sometime in 2018. I also used the YM2612 in a way to make a PSG-esque noise sound by globally tuning the chip to a base frequency lower than what DefleMask normally allows, discovered by Genatari (though something like this was heard in a song from the Genesis version of the 1995 game Demolition Man). Two patches I used here (slightly modified) come from the games Vectorman 1 and 2.

Finally out of the tunnel, a dense autumn forest lies before Kirby and co.! The grove is bustling with birds and the unknown! Poe turns to Kirby and Bandana Dee. “I- I don’t like the look of this… M-maybe there’s a way around…” Kirby looks deep into the forest. It doesn’t seem too scary at all… Maybe Poe is still a kid…? Kirby has to keep him safe! He turns toward Poe, gesturing that he’ll be fine as long as he stays close by. “R-really…? If you think so…” Bandana Dee assures him that nothing will happen as long as they stick together! “Alright then... L-let’s do it!” The cautious Poe and the confident Kirby and Bandana Dee begin their trek, deep into the crimson woodland of the Faraway Lands…
