Proving that patience doesn’t necessarily forego energy, Dino Sabatini arrives on Mantis with a charged, imposing statement of meditative techno. Sabatini has been at the forefront of the deep techno scene since the mid 00s, cultivating a sound with his own Outis Music which acknowledges the structures of club music while reaching beyond obvious drama and brute force, offering something more subliminal instead. On Mantis 06, Sabatini blurs the lines between organic and electronic percussion as he doubles down on steadfast rhythms executed with delicacy and impact in equal measure.

For this second episode of Chimaera for Lyl Radio, we invited a dear Milano Artist, Atoloï. his productions and mixes search for other depths, in which the listener can get lost in a dense "no boundaries" journey between the worlds of dance and meditation.

"When i started thinking about the way i could build this mix i had a completely different idea of it in my mind, in fact, i was planning to create a deep and fast-paced broken beat mix, like a continuous flow of rhythms directly polarized to the body. After actually starting, things took a completely different route, leading me to go search in that gap that links the mind to the physical world, the whole process of losing ourselves to search for a higher state as a Sufi that dances in a full trance. So, as an ecstatic experience, the mix grows slowly from a dreamy and crystal clear ambiance to deep and gritty sonorities, reaching its clue point with rattling percussion and cutting the silence with twisted rhythmic patterns. That fair of sounds won’t last much and just right after touching the peak, it will come back to nothing, concluding the mix without any kind of goodbyes."

Dschen is a Munich based DJ, producer, modular synthesist and music lover.

Coming from a musical family he soon began practicing the piano as a child, discovered the records of his fathers collection and started to play around with music software in his early teenage years. From then on it’s been a long journey studying all kinds of electronic music, gaining more and more knowledge in music production and music technology. Finally Dschen discovered the world of modular synthesis which quickly became his favorite way of artistic expression.

After building up a Eurorack system and developing working methods within the last few years his music now arises very intuitively. Based on studio live-jams he tries to capture a special sound aesthetic and authenticity. Deep, hypnotic, organic, often abstract and always reduced to the core describes best what Dschen’s music is all about. He often imagines his own works as living sculptures or an abstract room where you can spend some time in and discover more depths and details. The release „One Armed Statue“ embodies his recent artistic developement and also marks as his debut album.

Besides starting his own “Temporary Escape Podcast“ last year, where he is DJing some of his favorite electronic music from other artists, he recently also became part of a band (Super Plastik) where he’s improvising live with his modular system, joined by two fellow jazz musicians playing trumpet and saxophone through loads of FX pedals and loopers.

CASTING CALL 25 - A Strange Wedding - Rituals Part 1

Jordan Peters is a Sydney based DJ, and founder of Immersion. Jordan plays a range of sounds across the techno spectrum, but his music of choice: deep, dark and powerful. Heavy bass, twisted rhythms and hypnotic grooves are all on the platter. A large influence on his sound is Mindgames’ Labyrinth Festival and its residents, in the mountains of Naeba, Japan.

Jordan has supported and hosted Sydney shows for artists such as Regis, Abdulla Rashim, Giorgio Gigli, Marco Shuttle, Paula Temple, Rrose, Dino Sabatini, Rabih Beaini and Subjected with his Immersion project and former project Anomaly. He has supported artists such as Marcel Dettmann, Peter Van Hoesen, Neel, SO, Hodge, Luigi Tozzi, Dasha Rush, SHXCXCHCXSH, Pfirter, Truncate, Jonas Kopp, Ø [Phase], DJ Pete and has played at all of Sydney’s techno institutions.
