Bartender was written in 2014 and originally released as a single in 2016 preceding the Starting Over EP in 2017. This is a new version of the song recorded in 2022 with the same group of musicians from 2022's Out Searching album. This is the version of the song I always pictured - a much more organic and lively feeling take on my biggest song, to celebrate it hitting the decade mark.

Bartender (Decade Version)

“Cling” is a dark and haunting indie rock track told from the perspective of a stalker fixated on their neighbour. With brooding instrumentation and unsettlingly intimate lyrics, the song delves into themes of obsession and unrequited longing, creating an eerie yet captivating atmosphere that lingers long after it ends.

With layered female vocals, driving bass, and electronica infused dream pop, Lovina Falls glides forward with a propulsive swirl on ‘Light and Low’. It’s a sonic cocktail, blending art rock, baroque-pop, post-punk, and dream-pop’s textured depths, and soaring with elegant urgency and dream-like sensibility. The vocalist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist’s unique and unusual songwriting pairing of non-traditional and electronic instrumentation creates a genre-bending sound, unique to Lovina Falls.

Human Greed is Xy Gala’s boldest statement yet, blending trap beats, orchestral grandeur, and hard rock firepower into a cinematic anthem about power, corruption, and the darkness of human ambition. 

From the haunting choirs that open the track to the explosive chorus layered with orchestral strings and emotional vocals, Human Greed delivers a sound both epic and raw. Echoes of Guns N’ Roses’ balladry meet modern trap rhythms, while ethereal bridges expand the sonic world into something immersive and unsettling.

The lyrics paint stark images of corruption and sacrifice: “Kings of the concrete, built on dirty whims / Feeding off the lies like vultures on the rise.” Through raspy, emotional vocals, Xy channels influences from Avenged Sevenfold’s “LIBAD” melancholy to cinematic rock’s grandeur, ultimately, the voice is authentically Xy Gala.
