@duskrecordings inaugural compilation 'Dusk Volume One' is a love letter from California, featuring 'Traffic Jammers' by LA siblings @thealdridgebrothers. 

Nocturnal fixtures of the West Coast underground scene align in the contrast of vivid and subdued sonic textures that interplay amidst a marine layer haze and rhythmic waves on the Pacific horizon. This narrative journey of tracks paints an image of vessels cruising through the cosmos to dock at deep house islands. All tracks were commissioned, conceived and produced during a global pandemic as a way to stay connected locally, and now globally, upon its release.

@mashamar, @jeniluv & @heidski launch the new imprint Dusk Recordings. Building on their alignment as the DJ collective Surround, who host and DJ some of Los Angeles’ finest warehouse parties, the trio also co-founded Dusk Camp, a three-day music and art camp-out in California. The new label is inspired by the same principles as the events; freedom and independence represented by the renegade DIY warehouse parties in LA. The intersection of empowerment and expression, of light and shadow, of sun and moon—these dualities are the essence of Dusk, a thriving platform for radical inclusivity balanced by the chill vibe inherent to California.

Premiere: Aldridge Brothers 'Traffic Jammers'

Driving, fierce and incredibly groovy. That’s probably the only way to describe our new SNOE release. Susio you already know from the sick “Funktionality EP” that took the dancefloors across the globe by storm, and this time he has brought a new face to the family. Sitting down with his close friend and fantastic producer Dylan Andrew, the result just had to be a proper SNOE tune. We heard it for the first time during our live demo-listening session, and immediately knew we had to have it. The title track “Close” is ruled by a massive bassline, hypnotic synth plucks and energetic percussions that come together in a wild frenzy of sound and pressure. This tune is meant for those extraordinary dancefloor moments.

But, the party is not over yet! One of our favourite producers, Boneb, has joined in on the fun, putting his twist on the track “Close”. A rolling groove hits you right from the get-go in true Boneb style. The synths are weird and rough, the soundscape somewhat naughty. Layers come together, building up an exquisite tension that follows you into a big impact drop. It is the perfect combination of original elements and the style that makes him so unique.

We are very excited to finally release this one. Our world is slowly opening up and we can not wait to get on a dancefloor and just lose ourselves in music with you! And here are the perfect title tracks for it! Enjoy our SNOE065!

Anatomisch betrachtet hat “Lava Lava” ein schlank gehaltenes Arrangement. Aber beim Abspielen greifen die bissige Kickdrum, das seismische Donnern der Bassline und die orchestrale Fulminanz der Instrumenten-Samples mit der Präzision eines schweizer Uhrwerks ineinander. Dementsprechend explosiv funktioniert dieser Track dann auch auf der Tanzfläche, im Original genauso wie im rollend-bewusstseinserweiternden Großraum-Remix von Stephan Zovsky. Aber The Glitz legen sogar noch einen drauf, nämlich mit “Dandy Doorhole”. Zwischen dem stehenden Knarzen der Bassline und unter dem ekstatischen Rauschen der offenen Hi Hats schießt uns dieser Track mit schwindelerregender Beschleunigung durch ein schräges Computerspiel. Für den Remix zeichnet sich ein alter Freund von 3000Grad verantwortlich: Mathias Kaden. Der technoide Großmeister liefert die gleiche Energie und eine ebenso schwitzige Ekstase wie das Original, jedoch aus seiner unverwechselbaren Groove-Quelle.

Anatomically  speaking, “Lava Lava” grows from a sleek arrangement. But once you hit the play button the bite of the kickdrum, the seismic rumble of the bassline and the fulminant orchestral thrust of the instrumental samples work together like the cogs and gears inside a clock. Needless to say, the result is rather explosive and compelling - which goes for both the original version and the rolling big-room remix of Stephan Zovsky, who’s out on a mission to blow some minds again. And The Glitz don’t leave it at that: “Dandy Doorhole” is raising the stakes even higher. This tune exists between the perfidious boost of its bassline and the glittering showers of its open hi hats and hurls any dancefloor to the next level - a level oddly reminiscent of a spaced-out computer game. The remix comes from an old friend of 3000Grad: Mathias Kaden. This grand master of beats, bass and pressure delivers a version that is just as feverish and ecstatic, but that draws its energy from the irresistible groove that is the hallmark of this veteran producer.
