This is "The Lucky One" by Celldweller, but "recomposed" using stems from the remix files, along with various instruments in Logic Pro.

Apologies to Klayton for this defilement. I can't really think of anything original, and I have to create something in college, so here was the first abomination by me. I've finished a second song, which is actually another go at Imogen Heap's "The Song That Never Was", which I'll upload later this week, but to be honest, it's nowhere near as good as the first version I did, and that was done in Sony ACID Xpress!

Hmm, listening to it now at home on my Logitech speakers, it sounds a lot worse than it did in college with my "fashion" headphones. It's mostly drums you can hear; all three drum tracks, that is. Don't ask why I used three different drum tracks in the same song.

In March 2014, I got the opportunity to record The Half Quartet, a contemporary jazz duo – although on this day a trio with addition of a session drummer – consisting of pianist Alex Christaki and bassist Matt Brooks at Space, a collection of studio and rehearsal spaces contained within Dartington Hall in Totnes, Devon.

A variety of everything was captured on that day, but this was the only song I mixed and mastered at the time of the assignment in April: their jazz interpretation of Ludvig van Beethoven’s “Bagatelle No. 25 in A minor”, more commonly known as “Für Elise”.

I've only just recently rediscovered the project files and realised I forgot to upload it, so here it is! Now that I know where they are, I'll probably work on the other songs as well and upload them here later on.

On the bright side, it did get used in one of my college assignments, so it wasn't a complete waste.

This was my second mixing attempt, made the night after my first attempt; after I compared with a few other submissions, I realised I was too conservative, so I went back, added a couple more compressors, and here we are. Still kept it fairly dynamic, though; only went down from DR10 to DR8. I did make a third last-minute mix to try and add more bass, but after comparing, I didn't think it sounded as good, so I stuck with this one.

ViFolly - Face Your Fear or Die (Jordan Hicks Mix)

UPDATE (February 27th 2022): ...well, better late than never, I suppose. I've finally made good on my promise from 2013 and produced a new better-sounding mix just in time for Gran Turismo 7!

This one was done in PreSonus Studio One in about 3-4 hours, still using bits of both versions plus a rare live performance on top, no car noises from the game intro anymore, smoother editing, a much-needed boost to the low-end, some extra synths, and a rare bit of creative license in some places (especially the end, as turns out it's trickier than I thought to undo a fadeout).

I'm proud of how much better this one sounds compared to my original attempt a decade ago, especially since I haven't done any music stuff for a long time now, so good to know I haven't completely forgotten my music production degree!

I actually subscribed to Pro Unlimited just so I can replace the file and keep the impressive stats (well, compared to everything else I've uploaded on here); if however you still want to listen to that janky 2011 version that I did in an hour on Audacity + GoldWave, you'll be pleased to hear that the Mediafire link is still working: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?btdhhiychbpy909

Daiki Kasho - 5OUL ON D!SPLAY (GT7 Hype Mix)

This is what happens when I'm tasked with creating a one minute song using nothing but MIDI instruments in about two hours. And it's a good enough reason to never set me deadlines like this ever again. I'd rather take a very long time and create one brilliant track, instead of creating several terrible tracks in the same time.
