We are back again with another edit from @jabba-2-3 who has been deejaying for over three decades. Holding the residencies at the "moon" indie raves and the Rennes "made.festival". He has chosen to edit the cult classic  from Coldcut feat Yazz and the plastic population "Doctorin' the house"  from 1988 that we could not resist.  

Why is the song important? Coldcut is a British electronic music duo formed by Matt Black and Jonathan More. Pioneers of sample-based music and remix culture in the UK. Coldcut were among the first producers to treat sampling as an art form. They didn’t just loop beats—they layered samples from TV, movies, spoken word, and other records to build complex sonic collages. Founders of Ninja Tune, an influential independent record label that has shaped not only UK underground scene but an entire generation and beyond. 

At a time when house music was still largely underground and centered in Chicago, Doctorin' the House was one of the first UK tracks to fuse house rhythms with British pop and hip-hop sensibilities.

It helped popularize house music in the UK and Europe, setting the stage for the Second Summer of Love (1988-89) and the UK rave scene. 

Doctorin' the House showcased how sampling could be playful, political, and danceable, all at once.

In his own words...
I chose to edit this 1988 track because it was one of the first tracks (which I found so bizarre at the time) that introduced me to house music and later acid house. And I love this sample-driven style.

SINCHI EDITS 28 - Coldcut Feat. Yazz and Plastic Population - Doctorin’ the house (Jabba 2.3 Edit)

Laion touches down on Feinstoff with a sublime four-tracker that channels the sleek allure of Italo, the sun-drenched moods of early ’90s house, and a sprinkle of rave.

Opening with Hand Hand Paw, an irresistibly hooky bassline slides in early and takes hold, driving high-octane momentum with a glint of trance in its DNA, where rave energy fuses with crisp, Neo-Italo vibes. Built with the floor in mind, it pushes towards an acid-laced finale that seals the deal.

Doctr steps up for the remix, zeroing in on the original’s addictive bassline and letting it dominate the space. A commanding, stomping groove takes hold, stripped back to pure power, with precision layers and sharp dynamics showing Doctr in top form.

JYF shifts the mood into brighter territory, a dominating bassline carrying a French disco shimmer. Major and seventh notes add warmth and lift, while snare rolls build the tension toward a drop that slides in smooth and keeps the floor locked.

Closing with Spinelli Spielloni, the EP returns to darker terrain. An off-beat bass drives shadowy Neo-Italo vibes, stabbing chords slice through the mix, and harmonizing gated synths wrap the groove in a hypnotic grip.

We are delighted to present this special pair of tracks from Spanish producer and DJ Kiko Navarro on glorious 12″ vinyl, providing a glimpse of his much anticipated forthcoming album ‘Everything Happens For A Reason’.

Opening track ‘Twilight’ will need no introduction for crate diggers and 80’s club kids. A complete remaking of the Maze classic, Kiko’s version raises the tempo into deep house territory, retaining the dreamy, sensual feel of Frankie Beverly’s original.
Providing a sumptuous taste of the old-school, Kiko’s own acid-laden, energetic dub version of ‘Twilight’ is sure to wreak havoc on the dance-floor, with perhaps a little hint of good old fashioned euphoria as it reaches it’s synth string-filled climax.
On the B-Side ‘Cranc’ provides a raw, analogue, Detroit-esque synth jam, building an intense groove with an insistent, wrong-footing bassline underpinning dizzying arpeggios, jazzy stabs and warm chords.
