in islam, you need a sacrifice that will benefit others. "the blood of your sacrifice won't reach God, but your piety will." So, it must be something that upgrades you to a pious person. A better version of you. 

The common Christian belief here is that Love requires freedom (choice). Without a choice there could be no Love. Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about what God lacks - He lacks limitation. What I would add is that God desires to create and creation is to his glory and to worship Him. God cannot worship himself. The triune God as in Christianity does include the concept of Love outside of creation, and that God is Love. A single individual cannot exist in a relationship, and there are many arguments about why Love requires 3 parties - one being 2 parties would simply mean Love is purely reciprocal, again the requirement of choice. One common argument about why God allows evil is because He loves us. Choice necessarily leads to evil, but also the freedom to do good
