A year ago, as we prepared our line-up for our 2016 Pride party, we took out the magnifying glass and searched for the artists representing new and promising ideas for the queer dance-floor. An abundance of powerful players came to light, but Jordee, the spinner behind HNYPOT 229, floated to the top of that list. Jordee not only has the touch but an untouchable spirit. A personality that only got more powerful as they began transporting 60hz packets onto Bay Area dance floors. That calm, cool, and collected persona also comes through by way of the pacing of this mix. Although things eventually get rowdy and tough, Jordee takes us to darkness unscrewing one bulb at a time. Aside from the occasional vocal flourishes and hints of jazzy instrumentation, the pulsing hypnosis of this mix is persistent, the final track seemingly suggesting there is neither a begin nor end to this composition. "Captain, we are picking up a transmission from a distant queerdorgy planet." Given the speed sound travels there is no telling how long ago this message has been waiting for you. Before the ships scanners intercepted these extraterestrial beats they were entertaining a panoramic of stars and galaxies. Will these frequencies influence you for good or evil? Will they fry your engines or gift your mainframes with the alien code bringing you to unseen solar systems. You're locked in now, so only time will tell. Be brave for your world has always been unknown.

HNYPOT 229: Jordee's Non-binary Transmission

Originally hailing from New Hampshire, Jordee landed in San Francisco via North Carolina in 2011. Jordee arrived in time to catch the final years of the then weekly Honey Soundsystem parties. Lapping up guest sets by the likes of DJ Sprinkles, Steffi, Maurice Fulton, and Avalon Emerson, Jordee found a home in San Francisco’s vibrant community.
In the summer of 2017, Jordee co-created the monthly series Mixed Forms, with As You Like It’s Jeremy Bispo. Mixed Forms aims to bring together likeminded communities from across San Francisco nightlife with a focus on merging inclusive spaces and quality beats. In addition, Jordee and co-conspirator Matthew Paul also helm Kosmetik, a weekly at The Stud that spotlights talent from the bay and beyond.

Mixed Forms is a new party series created to bring together the communities across the San Francisco nightlife: queer and straight, house and techno, everything in between. All will be welcome and asked to come as you are to celebrate what brings us together and shine.

Our 01 guest is the perfect combination of both those qualities. 

Jordee is a San Francisco-based, non-binary, trans DJ. They are a resident and co-producer of Kosmetik and Mixed Forms at The Stud. Jordee’s eclectic sound crosses the spectrum from electro to techno to acid to house, with strong influences domestically and abroad.

Kosmetik showcases queer and underground artists at The Stud, a vibrant, collectively-owned queer club-cum-community space. The weekly queer electronic music night was born out of the desire for queer-run electronic music spaces. Jordee says, "our intention is to build a night that programs great artists, and endeavours to get people from different scenes to cross paths and coalesce on the dance floor. Queer space is critical for our community and I feel fortunate to collaborate with a venue that affirms our politics."

They bring us an electrified beautiful mix of techno, electro and house and we're forever grateful for it!
