The Black Light Disco show arrived on the myhouseradio.fm airwaves like a thundering steam train packed with party people who want to keep going until the end of the line. 

This week, we had an early Thanksgiving Special for our cousins in the US (its also a special treat for our friends on this side of the Atlantic too!) On Saturday 21st November, BLD Towers moved the centre of its operations to Mamasan in Liverpool for a spectacular party with some of our very close friends. So, for this week's show, we thought we’d share a cut of the ‘live’ recording from Saturday starting with an amazing warm up set from Faz, then a B2B set from Goz & Esteban, followed by our headliner and special guest for the evening - the one and only Wahine! 

It was truly a special night, and the music was absolutely first class all night - even if we do say so ourselves. A special thanks to Faz for his gadgetry skills and for turning out the recording!

In this show we cover some of the finest signature tracks that were  played by Larry Levan at The Paradise Garage. 

Covering Disco, Funk, Rare Groove, House, Synth-pop, Latin and Soul; you know the drill, non stop easy listening funky disco grooves from start to finish.

To describe Larry Levan here is an article from The Guardian:

"Larry Levan was the first superstar DJ. The first to really convince the world that there was more to DJing than just playing one record after another. For 10 years from 1977 to 1987, Levan was the star attraction at New York’s legendary Paradise Garage, writing himself into clubbing lore with swashbuckling DJ sets that took in minimal underground disco, funky rock, dub and synth-pop, which foreshadowed the house music revolution. At the same time, his uncanny ability to mix and tweak records for maximum emotional impact would regularly send his devoted congregation into raptures."

The mix has been put together using a 'Shooting from the hip' style of cut mixing and blending.
