Description: 2018. A Roland V-Synth provides the pads & percussion loops and triggers three Arpie arpeggiators in parallel, which in turn sequence an XV-5050 module. The acoustic guitar track 'Arrival' (from marccarlton.bandcamp.com/album/winter-diary) was processed twice through the Hologram Microcosm, once with the grains playing forwards and once again backwards, and playing with the onboard lowpass filter throughout.

Then, both takes were synced to the original track, and the whole mix processed using the Strymon Timeline delay and BigSky reverb.

The sea & gulls sounds were recorded in Barcelona circa 2014.

Circa 2018. Two hands, four synths, not a clue: original models of the Korg MS-20, MS-10, Mono/Poly and Yamaha's CS-40M. Everything multi-tracked at once, first take.
Quite minimally edited and mixed in software.

2019. Done in one take in the Elektron Octatrack MK1 with eight tracks full of samples and two more tracks sending midi to some synth I can't recall. Minimal post-editing.

2022. Sixteen phrases were extracted from Marc Carlton's 'Winter Diary' acoustic album and loaded into the Blackbox.
Then some onboard midi sequences were introduced (4/4, 14/8, 5/4, 15/16). The result is a one-take live improvisation, triggering on and off both loops and sequences.
