Topeng dance is a traditional dance form that originated in Indonesia, particularly in the island of Java. The word "topeng" means "mask" in Indonesian, and the dance is characterized by the use of masks by the performers. 

During a topeng dance performance, the dancers wear traditional Javanese costumes and move in a stylized and graceful manner. The dance is highly expressive, with the performers using their body movements, gestures, and facial expressions to portray the stories and characters depicted by the masks. The dancers often undergo rigorous training to master the precise movements and techniques associated with topeng dance.

In 2015, J. Maikel visited his first techno festival and since then he was immediately in love with this kind of music. After his first visit to the very well known event “Reaktor'' in Amsterdam, he decided to get into DJing so in 2018 he bought two turntables and a mixer and started learning the basic skills of DJing with vinyls by himself.

Now he is strongly inspired by old school sounds from the late 90’s & early 00”s, but two years ago he discovered the fast-paced hypnotic and groovy techno. Now he blends both of them, giving as result his unique track selection.

He his also co-owner of the platform Dailytechno with his friend Alloctone, where they upload a track per day, always trying to show up with amazing stuff! We can definitely say that there is a lot of hard work behind so you better go and check it!
