Tim Engelhardt returns to Poker Flat Recordings for the first time since his First Contact release in 2020. 

In the meantime the German producer and DJ has been gracing other fine labels such as Stil Vor Talent and Watergate Records, but Poker Flat is delighted to welcome back his distinctive deep and effecting approach to tech house with his new EP Follow.   

Follow is a highly musical track - the live-sounding drums give it a motorik feel, while the bubbling synths and melancholic, jazzy keys bring an element of depth and sophistication.  

Burning is a techier cut, with a thick, rounded bass and some of Tim’s trademark tension building synth lines. It’s the perfect soundtrack for the upcoming festival season.

To continue the series of my all time favourit artists I am chuffed to share 75min of listening pleasure from Sebastian Mullaert (aka Minilogue) with you. What a yummy Santa Claus surprise :)

Thank you for all the great music you have created and the goosebumps and joy you have given us through your excellent sound! And for taking the time to inspire us with your very interesting and meaningful interview answers.

1. Lucidflow: How does a creative day look/feel like for you?

Sebastian: I try to live a life where I have the possibility to be reminded about my being and at the same time be able to remind other beings about their being. You could say that it's an invitation of the being to the being to be ... Might sound stupid but at the moment I feel that this is the only true meaning there is. I try to let this be the intention behind everything I do; both in my daily life, my zen practise and my creative work in the studio and when I'm performing music on stage.
Like most beings I meet on this journey I also have loads of habitual patterns and unbalances that can be a hinder in keeping this pure intention strong all the time, patterns that I'm unaware about that hinder me and my surrounding to express creativity. Being aware and see this and also gather the strength and faith to face what I most of all want to escape is part of this practise, my daily life with my wife and two children, my zen practise and my creative work in the studio are all amazing ways to do this. This is the life I have right now and I'm thankful for getting this opportunity to let freedom take place; within and outside ... Mile End Records is a label focused on House music in all its forms. Sometimes Deep, sometimes Techy and always on point in terms of quality and groove. The Canadian based label set up in 2005 has released music from a number of seminal artists including Leftwing & Kody, Cera Alba, Lee Walker, Darius Syrossian, DJ Pierre and Glimpse, who these days is perhaps more commonly known for being one half of Dense & Pika. 

The latest EP comes from Berlin (Germany) DJ, Producer and Vocalist named Annegret Perel Fiedler, who appears as her "Perel" alias. Following a release on Do Not Sleep Ibiza, Perel's music can also be found on Ourselves, O*RS and Lyase Recordings. 

The solo remix here is from Moscoman, who has made the move from Tel Aviv (Israel) to Berlin. Creating a personal sound with varied influences, he heads up the Disco Halal label and also enjoyed success with great releases for ESP Institute, Correspondant, I'm A Cliché and Eskimo. 

Track one titled “Amin” is the first of the two originals to feature on this release. Oozing class from the very first beat, it has a deep synth line and organic flow which is soon followed by expertly placed keys and complimenting chords. Instantly captivating with a dreamy aesthetic, the track has gothic 80's undertones and will no doubt appeal to fans of artists like Recondite and Tale of Us. 

Second on the release is the Moscoman remix of “Amin” and he takes it up a notch with his rework. Thickening the percussion he adds a throbbing pulse to give the bassline an injection of energy. Moving like the crest of a wave, the melody weaves in and out of the mix to create drama and build tension in what can only be described as an epic remix. 

The third track on this EP titled “Distance Touch” is the second of two originals. Lead by the bassline, this is another melodic monster with just the right amount of chic. Stripped back percussion makes space for rising pads, whilst the intimate whisper of the female vocal captivates the listener. Distinctively individual, the track has a poignant sense of mystery and is a must have DJ tool for anyone who likes to take the dancefloor on a journey. 

Finishing the release is a Radio Edit of “Amin” for anyone looking to have a rather more compact version of the EP’s lead track.
