I remember, remember it so well when I heard my body telling me to stop 
I shut my mouth, I shot myself, I shut my eyes and I chose to shoot you all 
When? Well, when I closed it with all sorts of things, huge amounts of soil and sand, all kinds of ropes and strong chains 
Strong but not strong enough to silence all those inside me who were in pain 

Fear time running out 
Feel love coming down 

I felt them, felt them alive, more than ever, all my fears demanding full presence and love 
So I faced, embraced, I asked them for a dance and they came, they joined for another chance 
We danced, we cried, we laughed, we died, in love we celebrated that we would never hide 
Now I know time won't stop, I won't disappear, I'm an expansion of love and I choose to embrace my fear

To Drop And Let Go is my first album of all original compositions. Very personal songs that for a long time I have felt the physical and emotional need to give life to ... I decided to face my fears, my artistic and personal doubts, to look at them directly with honesty and love and record this album, and thus to release them, to let them go… 

I proposed a challenge to myself and decided to record this album with only two instruments: the double bass and the voice. Instruments that are in constant dialogue and occupy different functions during the songs and the entire album, thus giving life to the emotions and words they carry… I thank you, I thank me, I thank us and let go! 

To Drop and Let Go is the second solo album by Jorge da Rocha, a unique work where the artist continues to develop his passionate expressiveness with the double bass, voice and words. A work that breaks the borders of its jazz career and incorporates it into its passion for modern and alternative music, for world music, for electronics and for songwriting. 

In a constant dialogue between all the amazing resources of only his voice and his double bass, To Drop And Let Go seduces the listener in the discovery of new soundscapes and songs that show us the artist's own universe, his feelings and emotions, his experiences and the dedication to permanent personal and artistic search.

BLAU is my third album. It reflects some of my thoughts about the state of being lost, as a powerful opportunity to improve ourselves as individuals and as a collective of humans living in the same place - Planet Earth.
It’s also a personal journey of emotions and sound exploration.

Jorge da Rocha is a Portuguese musician living in Spain. After playing with many groups from the Barcelona music scene, Da Rocha starts is solo project recording two albums: These are a few of my favorite songs (playing cover songs from Radiohead, Massive Attack, Björk among others) and To drop and let go, with his own compositions. Both albums were recorded only with two instruments: double bass and voice. And what a wealth of possibilities the combination of double bass, loop station and celestial vocals produces! Jorge’s one-man-cosmos creates magical moments and seduces the listener in the discovery of new soundscapes and songs that show the artist's own universe, his feelings and emotions, his experiences and the dedication to permanent personal and artistic search. A search that aims for finding new ways to arrive at the same destination: the heart and soul of the listener.
Jorge is in a continuous process of developing his passionate expressiveness with the double bass, voice and words, breaking the borders of its jazz career and incorporating it into its passion for modern and alternative music, for world music, electronic music and songwriting.
