You can now enjoy the final episode of this years Jogicast. The year in which I started this podcast to explore and express a more melodic way of deep house and techno. I have learned a lot more about the genre and it has managed to make a strong grip on me ever since. For this years finale I made a longer and extended version. I hope you enjoy it and continue to follow me in the next year as well!

JOGI is a DJ-artist based in Woerden (Utrecht, The Netherlands).

Raised in my fathers nightclub in Aghios Nikoloas, Crete in the late 80ies and begin 90ies I got in touch with many different music styles at a very young age. My mother is a singer and plays the clarinet. My father... Well he can be anything. Him singing, MC-ing, and playing vinyls in his own night club were some of the first things I witnessed while on this planet. You can safely say I was literally raised with entertainment.

After moving to the Netherlands I continued my musical journey by starting to play the drums. I was told by my mentor that I have a high sense of rhythm and not long after I was asked to perform in percussion events. After  getting in touch with this warm, sweaty and uplifting sound I felt this new love for percussion and it hasn’t got any weaker in the meantime either.

Call it a wonder that I didn't start DJ-ing much earlier. My friends and family know me as a man full of music and always with a media player in my pocket. I made sure everyone knew it when I had collected some new songs by sharing or singing out loud.

Once I flipped the switch and decided to buy my equipment I entered a completely new musical world. Not long after I was asked to play at a friend's house party. The reactions were very good and the same night I was asked to play again in a local bar. I enjoy to share the Music and to bring  this joy to others. It’s a feeling of which I knew from the start I would’nt want to let go.

I have been inspired by national artists such as Eelke Kleijn, Miss Melera, Olivier Weiter and Arjuna Schiks and found my peace and remedy in the deeper "melodic" side of electronic music.

Whether it's ambient, deep, tech, latin house or techno, music without melody lines is like music without colour.

When not going deep and melodic I’m entering a more soulfull, groovy and warm type of house music. Staying national again since artists such as Detroit Swindle and Chris Stussy stood at the base of this second love.

Besides spinning and recording I work a full time job. However I spend as much time on music as possible. Step by step I’m determined to grow musically and share with you my journey while doing so!
